Grumbling Appendix

Our seven year old has a suspected grumbling appendix. But the Docs dont want to intefere with it. Something to do with the lymph system and that it may settle in time never to bother her again. It has been going on for two years now, she gets sudden pain in her abdomen followed by vomiting and mild temp.  24 hrs later she is back to normal. Has anyone been through this, any suggestions to ease her symptoms. She just cries so hard, and wants me to stop her being sick. I feel so helpless on this one.

Re: Grumbling Appendix
My daughter had the same thing between the ages of 9 and 11 and nothing ever came of it. I can understand the frustration you are experiencing as we went through all of the testing with her with no answers, except for that some virus' can trigger it. My daughter hasn't had another one for 5 years now. We just watched her and made sure that she went the the doctors when it was too much for her. I hope all goes well.

Re: Grumbling Appendix
Hi
Go see another doctor.
This is not a good situation to be in.
Don't want to scare you but what if it ruptures...
They grumble for a reason and that is to say get me out of here
Insist on them getting rid of it before the worse happens
Luv Deb

Re: Grumbling Appendix
Yes your right it is not a good situation. However I've lost count of the Docs that have seen her, pedeactrics, gastric specialists, A&E every time she starts. They just drip her and monitor. As soon as it settles they send us home. Last night they gave an ultasound, a little irritated was the comment, we will monitor. When I get irritated, it is always this lymphatic system and studies show, blah. We even looked at private docs but they agree. It worries me I think because I never had symptoms, mine just went pop. It was hell. Crumbs we are on first name terms with the admitting receptionists at A&E.

Re: Grumbling Appendix
Have you got second ,third opinions? cause I know how fast appendix can rupture........They seem to have valid reasons but gosh I feel she would be better off with them honestly....what does her Pediatrician say? You must be feeling so helpless watching your little one in so much pain......Keep us posted on how she goes...Hugs Crystal xx
