I have always said, no matter how sweet a dog or cat can seem they are still dogs and cats...

It is very sad, I can only imagine how the parents must feel...

My first dog had to leave before our baby arrived. Although he was fantastic with my husband, step daughter and myself he was horrible to the cat. He never attacked him but chased him away every time I wanted to show him affection. My dog needed to be introduced to anyone coming inside the house and then he was sweet as pie...  But I just could not, would not trust him with our son because he chased the cat away from me trying to show it some love, imagine what he would have been like with my son while I carried him around...

Nope I love dogs, I have a jack russell. But he is still a dog.. Always need to be careful...

Re: Please read this......

I HAVE 2 DOGS AND 2 CATS ,1 OF THE DOGS HAS BEEN WITH US SINCE MY 2ND CHILD WAS BORN AND WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LUCKY SHE DID NOT TURN VICIOUS .

IF A DOG TURNS ON ITS OWNER ITS TIME FOR THE DOG TO GO,I LOVE MY DOG BUT IF SHE EVER DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT I WOULD GIVE HER AWAY TO SOMEONE WITH NO KIDS OR HAVE HER PUT DOWN.

I HAVE TO ADMIT ,2 TIME MY DOG WHICH IS 8 HAS GROWLED AT MY 2 KDS THAT HAVE AUTISM ,BUT WE WERE PRESENT AND NOTICED THEY WERE ANOYING HER AND HUGGING HER 2 TIGHT ,BUT SHE WAS PUT OUTSIDE FOR 2 WEEKS EACH TIME SHE DID IT ,WHICH SHE HATES .

WITH US WE NEED TO SURPREVISE THE DOGS WHE WITH KIDS AT ALL TIMES

SPECIALLY WHEN DOGS ARE GETTING OLDER .THEY ARE NOT AS PATIENT .

Re: Please read this......

I did hear and read about this earlier, and it's such a tragedy. When my youngest daughter was born, we had a staffy x kelpie, and while i was pregnant, he bit my husband. He was a one person dog, and he protected me. When we came home from the hospital, i got out of the car, opened the back door to where my daughter was, and i turned around to give something to my husband who was standing between myself and the dog, ( so the dog was in the middle of us ) and i bent my knees to stroke the dog, and he bit me. I said to hubby, that's enough, if he's going to bite me, and he's the one that protects me the most, i'm not risking him anywhere near our daughter, so luckily enough my mum came down straight away, and looked after my youngest daughter, while we took him back to the dog pound where we got him from.

I know it's cruel to do that, and i was crying my eyes out, but i had to do it for the safety for my daughter, myself and the rest of my children.
