Re: preterm labour? braxton hicks?
Hey miss nat,
I went through something similar when pregnant with gracie. I had a load of braxton hicks at about the 30 week mark and man, did they hurt!!!!!! Maybe it was a bloke that come out with the statement that they don't hurt sheesh! Hunni, if you're concerned off to the doc you go. Let us know how you go!!!!

love ya,

fi xoxox

p.s I smoked when pregnant with gracie..... I know naughty me........................ she wasn't cranky when I bottle fed her from day one. In fact the only reason she was cranky was the fact that she started cutting teeth at 2 months old...... 4 at once!!!! Bless the little darlin'!!!!

Re: preterm labour? braxton hicks?
You are smoking and pregnant? I know it is hard to quit as i have seen my mum do it, but it's worth it in the end. If you are smoking and pregnant your baby will be born and will be addicted to nicotine. If you don't know if you choose to bottle feed you will have a cranky baby on your hands as he will be cooking of the nicotine. However if you breastfeed you might want to mix it with some formula so you can slowly ween him of nicotine. Good luck

Re: preterm labour? braxton hicks?

With Katherine 2nd child i started braxton hicks at 28 weeks and they were very painful, i thought i was in labour but turns out i wasnt haha. If you are really concerned i would ring nurses online or hospital  and ask them if you should be worried or if you should attend the hospital.  I would be concerned with the mucus more but if ever in doubt you just make your way to the hospital. I remember one night the brxtn hicks lasted off and on for 16 hours straight.  Glad  i will never experience this again lol. Hope all goes well and let us know how you go, thinking of you!!!

Hugs Tee

Re: preterm labour? braxton hicks?
pmsl @ braxton hicks arent painful! they are very similar to labour pains, and that's why so many women go to the hospital with them; thinking it's the actual labour!
I think if you had a mucus showing, and you are still getting pains then go to the hospital. It's best to be safe and be ok'd by the doctor than to be delivering in the car on way to hosp.
Just my opinion! Good Luck

Re: preterm labour? braxton hicks?
i forgot to add that i had braxton hicks from about 32 weeks and went to the hospital on a few occasions because of it....
One time i thought my waters had broken but i actually pee'd myself because of the pain...so that was also scary.
Just do what you need to ease your mind.
