My 15 month old daughter has cut her finger on something & its got all infected. I have only just noticed how bad it actually is. There's a huge ball of puss & liquid in it & it has a bright red ring around it. I have tried draining it & applying antiseptic & a band aid but she refuses to keep them on! Is there anything else i can do?
I would definately take her to the doctor and get some antibiotics!!!!
I have just recovered from a thumb infection myself and it got nasty VERY quickly! From a small scratch, that ended up infected from gardening ( and we all know that children end up with VERY grubby fingers) I had oral antibiotics which, as I left it too long before seeking assistance, didn't work. I now have half my thumb missing and only half a thumb nail! PLEASE don't mess around with nasty infections!!!
take her to the doc to get it looked at as there maybe something forign in it and it may need to be cleaned,,infections can lead to other things and also fevers etc,, get it looked at the doctor might give her antibiotics also ...
my son didnt like band aids at all so I started buying the kids ones with pictures on the also we played doctors (now he put one on every dot he sees on any of us) I also use the spray and the drops.
If you think it's bad enough, I suggest going to see the doctor. Infection can spread in the body and if it is infected, you want to get it looked at right away.
By the sounds of it she needs antiboitics. Infections can spread and be dangerous so don't chance it - take her to the doctor. I remember a time when my daughter jammed her finger in a door & it got infected - she needed antibiotics.
Ouch!!! poor baby! but they will stick their fingers where they don't belong!!!! I'd take her to the chemist. They deal with this sort of thing all the time and can advise if you need to go to the doctors. As for how to keep bandaids on? Let me know if you find the answer!!!!
