i think ten days with two weeks before is sufficient.

i think 3 weeks would be ok..

If people live locally, I send them out 4 weeks in advance. For close friends/family who live away but are wanting to attend I give 6-8 weeks.

I agree with everyone else and say 2- 3 weeks , as its her First birthday some people would love to buy a extra special bday present...

About 2-3 weeks before the date of the event

I usually send the party invitations out about a month before hand, so it gives people time to prepare themselves and plenty of time to find a present because of money wise etc.

depends if your friends are like me! haah! i send out invitations about 2 weeks before that way ppl have time to get a gift. if i get an invite too soon i forget. but you could tell ppl in advance and then remind them with the invite a bit closer to the date.

I like to receive birthday invitations a few weeks before the party. This gives me plenty of time to chose a suitable present for the "birthday boy/girl". After all, that is part of the fun. Receiving the invitation early also ensures that I have not accepted another invitation that might be require me to leave, arrive late or not be able to attend the party at all. Enjoy the experience!

There is nothing wrong with sending out the invites now as not only does it give ppl plenty of notice and time but it will also help to take of the stress from you and give you a little more time to prepare . .

I generally try to give at least 2 weeks notice of a party. If there are really busy people coming, or if you have lots on around the time of the party, then send them out soon. If you send them too soon, people may forget the date. I know this sounds terrible but it happens with things that go on in peoples lives. If the guests are fairly close friends or those you see regularly, then send the invites out now with a reminder phone call/email/sms a couple of weeks beforehand.
