Re: diaorrhea and labour?
Haha I have a good story about this ; have you ever had the giggles during a contraction? It is exruciatingly painful! I had this problem with my last labour (no-not from drugs as we went natural but likely from the endorphins) because I was passing the smelliest wind etc while in labour. It was so bad that when I was about 9 cm dialated my midwife had to open the window so we could breathe! I got the giggles at the time and I'm laughing now just thinking about the water my poor wee man was born in. I think it was the castor oil that I drank trying to bring labour on. I think it is pretty normal to have loose motions during and after labour, but I found out when pregnant with my first baby that a tummy bug or diahorea can actually start labour, as can a kidney/urinary tract infection. It aggravates the uterus and can cause contractions. They might not continue but its enough to scare anyone who is 34 weeks (I was 31 weeks when this happened). Check with your doctor in case there have been some changes in your cervix since the tummy bug.

Re: diaorrhea and labour?
Apparently it's normal for the body to try and evacuate everything prior to the birth.  This did happen to me and it was pretty much straight away, i had a hindwater leak and then it started happening, by the time i had my baby everything had 'cleared' out!

Re: diaorrhea and labour?
lol not me but i do know one story...

my sister was asked if she could go in with her friend while she had the baby, she caught gastro some hours before and had to start pushing..... ummm poo's everywhere! lol!
quite embarrassing but im sure all women out there who has had a child, should understand that it cant be helped and the doctors and midwives are equipped for this as most of them have seen it all before :)

Re: diaorrhea and labour?
I had it off and on before I went into labor so I think you may be safe for a while longer.  I'm sure at 34 weeks you are really getting ready to have the baby.
