After four months on maternity leave... my wife is going back to work... leaveing me at home to care for the baby. I know that she is really dreading leaving the baby, as any mother would. I wish that I could be the one to work so she could stay at home, but there is no way that I could ever make the money that she does. Now that she is going back to work, I know that she will get jelous of me staying at home and being with the baby all the time because she really wants to be at home. She obviously has her way of parenting and doing things, and really wants to be the one to teach the baby and raise her every day. What can I do to put her at ease. What can I do help her through this transition, so that our relationship dosent suffer.
Well i know when you get towards the end of your pregnancy that the baby doesnt move as often. Im 38+5 and today have hardly felt the baby move. He has made little niggles but nothing like he use too. I have pain in my back and on the sides of stomach but thats it.
How often should i feel him move to know that everything is ok? Is it bad he isnt moving often or could it mean he has slowed down to perhaps make his grand entrance??
Hiya, as some of you know I am Bipolar and I take Valpro for it, well also you know that i have just had surgury on my legs and am still in pain. My prob is i just looked up some painkiller s my dad gave me (panalgesic) and it said not ot take with eppilepsy medication (Valpro - its also a mood stabliser) so i almost passed out at my SIL wedding tonight and i want to know could it be from that?
i don't know who to ring to ask as I live in Perth WA and all the chemists are shut and docs too.
hey everytime i go to the loo, which is every couple of minutes i wipe and there is sticky clear stuff on the toilet paper, its been happening since noon today and its only little bits, im 37 weeks gone and ive getting contractions too but im not to sure if there brackstonhicks or not my guess is they are...they hurt a little and last for about 3minutes some of them are shorter but there not timeable there up to an hour apart sometimes. anyway could it be the contractions are opening my cervix alowing my plug to come loose?
hey, i have a 3year old and a 5 year, my 3year old see's her dad's family every now and then , but i dont like her seeing her dad due to a past voilent relationship..i am fine with her grand parents seeing her though...they babysit her over night every now and then, and my problem is that her grandmother picks her up and says she's going to have her for the night but when i ring summer up at night to see how she is i get told by the grandmother that she has taken her to her dads...is there anyway that i can stop this from happining. i've spoken to the grandmother and told her my concerns but she see's him as being fine looking after her. my concerns when she is there are that she is being feed properly and has proper sleeping area...she sleeps on a matress on the floor at his.which i dont find really approipriate .and when she gets back its really annoying cause she is out of routine from staying up late and being allowed to do what ever she wants over there. I feel like i'm in a tricky situation though, cause i find it hard to say no to her and to tell her that i dont want him to see her due to what has happened to me in the past, but also i dont wanna result in having to stop her having contact with summer because i like the grandmother and she is nice but i just dont want her to go behind my back and say she is having her and then she doesnt...does anyone know what i can do or say ...
can someone help me my nephew came over last night and has conjuctivtis and now caitlin has it is there anything i can do with out going to the docters .
ok, the only reason i havnt called the hospital is because they always seem to think ive wet myself and say its too early to be in labour rah rah rah, yet im 38weeks.
I just went to the toilet and yet again seen that my underwear was wet, not alot but it was wet, no sign of discharge tho. Sounds horrible but i was told to smell it on a previous question i asked and i did this time but it doesnt smell like anything. Im not getting any pains at the moment just my groin area hurts and it has since i woke up also my heart seems to be racing outside of my chest..i feel abit dizzy too...
I want to call the hospital but they never say to come in so i dont know what the hell to do :( Should i just wait to see if i lose anymore fluid?
My daughter is almost two and some time around midnight she will always wake up and not get herself back to sleep. As my husband is in the Navy he is away a lot so I just put her in bed with me so that we can both get some sleep..... how do I teach her to settle herself in her own bed?????
We went to the see the health nuse yesterday for H's 1year check up. He did fairly well . We didn't see our usual nuse as I had to change the appt time I already had (made 4mths ago) due to sleeping times, my nurse job shares, and dosen't work the only day I could book.
Anyway this nurse asked how many bottles H was having I said 3. She said no no no he should be only having 2 and you should be cutting down. I said we have already given 1 up and he is not having that much any way never been a good drinker. Never had the required amout it says on the tin. He never really got past 150mls
One bottle at 7am brekky at 8.30 then lunch about 11.30- 12 (childcare does this so we followed) then bottle at about 2 - 2.30 then arvo tea about 4ish dinner 5.30-6pm bottle at about 7.15pm. Is this too much??
Anyway how many bottles should I be giving he gererally eats or has bottle every 2-3hrs. What do/did you do? Should I ring my usual nurse and ask? I kinda feel a bit silly really
I was just wondering, When your water breaks and it only trickles out, could the flow come to a stop? and if u dont have any contractions within the next 24 hours could it be harmful? Could your waters break without you knowing or is it obviouse? for eg..when u are sleeping, if u think its just urine or sweat.
Anthony turned 2 last month and really loves to help. Bless him. But sometimes he is more of a hindrance when it comes to the big house chores. Eg vacumming. He is just constantly under my feet. Any way I thought of things like putting his nappy in the bin (except pooey ones) washing in the machine help mum make the bed etc. Just small things like this. I was just wondering what everyone elses take on this is? Do you think he is too young or at an age where these things are just enforcing good habits for the future.
I have a 9 year old daughter and 11 year old son, their father and I have been divorced for over seven years, we are both remarried. He and his wife are expecting a baby. I was just wondering if I should expect any different behaviour from my children and will their interaction with their father and stepmother change?
My daughter is nearly 4 and we have started her at a local preschool one day a week. She was really excited about going. when I picked her up after her first day she started to cry and now says she doesn't ever want to go back. The teachers said she was fine through the day, although had a few tears at meal times and wanted to go home. Did anyone else have trouble getting their child to settle in to preschool and what did you do to help you child overcome their fears and how long did it take for them to settle in. I feel horrible to make her go as she has always had huge seperation anxiety issues and I feel I am going to "damage " her in some way by forcing her.
Well my little girl Cody-Lee has been to numerous docters and skin specialists regarding this red, dry, itchy and very painful rash that she gets on mainly her hands ( Also pops up under her arms, behind her knees and also inbetween her thighs ) Now each person we have seen has perscribed her a cream that has cortisone in it but they just makes the rash 10 times painful and worse...I don't use soap when she is in the bath or shower I use soap free body wash. But this is really starting to get the better of me I don't know what I can do to make this stop....Any-one who replies with any idea it would muchly appriciated.
My son is 11 months old. I have already started introducing cows milk to him in his cereal and porridge. But i was wondering, how and when do i start introducing him to cows milk in a bottle.
Should i add formula to it at first? Or do i just give it to him straight? Will i need to get the toddler formula???
I am not planning on doing this for a few weeks, but i just want an idea of what i will be doing. (and how much more formula i should buy) I really have no idea.
