Re: 7th month old screaming
girls and screaming/squelling! they love it! sounds as though she has discovered her voice, mine all did it and would do it for no apparent reason just because they could! i wish i could say they grow out of it but girls just seem to squeel a lot and then inevitably talk a lot!

Re: 7th month old screaming

Oh I remember that, and Piglet used to let out this horrendous scream, then when people looked she would giggle, and do it again. She is now too busy talking to play that game any more. A shame, as it could really make food shopping fun for us, if not for everyone else. Is it me, because, I notice that it is mainly girls who do the scream and boy's the shout.? Maybe I just notice girls, as that is what I have.

Best Wishes, and enjoy "The screaming Game". Luv. Winnie.

Oh so normal. It makes it even better when they have siblings who decide it is fun to scream back, and the circle continues. Just go with it. LEisa

It's very normal - she has obviously just discovered her voice! Just ignore those rude stares - obviously they don't know what it's like when a bub learns to scream! lol! It will tone down after a while, just go with it and enjooy her newly found voice!

This is so normal.  i remember my son imitating the electric beater one day when i was cooking!  I thought it was hilarious.  Don't worry about it, go with the flow she'll be on to the next phase before you know it!!

how adorable! Sephie found her voice recently and loves to make her presence known!
I always look like a fool because I talk to her about mundane things ith a goofy smiley voice while we're shopping so she'll not get upset, she talks back quite seriously in goos and gahs these days :) but every now and then she goes into shriek mode

i agree also, it sounds like she is at that stage where she is finding her voice, charlie did at this age and i had a little old lady come up to me one time and told me that i should be a mother if my child was going to screem in a public place, oh well they are out there, i wouldn't worry to much about what others think, you know that you are a great mum, when she does it try and get her to giggle after it so that its a game, hope that helps

hugs and kisses

I agree! She has found her voice! Great fun ahead! She will keep trying to "talk" so make sure you talk back! Don't worry what other people think! At least she wasn't screaming hysterically! If they see you smiling and laughing and chatting with her as she squeals and yells, they tend to smile rather than frown at you! Have fun!

Sounds like she discovered her voice.  Yes this is very normal.  It's all a part of her learning to speak.  If you do it back to her you actually see her continue and use it like she is talking to you.  Embrace it and encourage her to make noise as this helps her develope the skills she needs to talk.
