Not a parenting question- it's about ratings and comments
Some times when I love someone's article I rate it 5 stars and then if you write a comment my rating doesn't seem to have counted. Am I just looking at it wrong or pressing the wrong button? I want to make sure the people know that I valued their advice! I say so in my comment, but would still like to give credit where it is due.

HIya
When I vote, it will show up as a 5 or whatever star but the amount of votes that the author has received doesnt change unless I re-vote on it again. Only then will it show another vote has happened. I figure if I am going to bother voting then I want it to at least show and add to the tally for the person who wrote the piece.

Yes I have noticed this. I think the system has a glitch. If you leave, then go back you will see that your vote has counted. In cases it it has taken up to five mins for my vote to show. However it does show automatcally in activity.? Weird.

Thanks for your response. Haha love your Piglet picture. He was underappreciated in Winnie the Pooh I thought I personally loved him and Tigger the best!
I like to write comments so people know what I liked about their article and stuff rather than just rate it. But after reading some stuff on here, it seems some people place importance on ratings. I don't, but I know I get a bit excited whenever I get a positive rating on something I've written because I've never really shown anyone my writing about children so it's all happy and new for me :)

Hi,
I'm sure it counts! But i think the rating on the advice is an overall ranking, as in the average rating of what everybody has voted....if you know what i mean!! Because not everyone's vote will be the same.

Thanks Julie,
Some people seem to have what they rated the articles just above the comment and sometimes my 'stars' look 'empty' haha does that make sense or am I talking gibberish?
I love how quickly you can recieve information and answers to questions on this site. I think I'm addicted to Minti haha :)
Re: Not a parenting question- it's about ratings and comments
Hi Tanya,
Well, to rate an article or piece of advice, you just have to click in the box next to the number of stars you wish to rate it. As your rank increases, so does the weight of your vote.
As for your comments, the "empty" stars are there so that others can rate your comments. They become filled if someone votes on a comment you make. It will stay "empty" if no one does.
