Re: Voting Down?
Because I believe this is something that should be read by all, and re-read and then read again I  thought that I would comment on this purely so that it would appear in the recent list again...

Three points I believe are valid, good points and ones to remember are....(cut & past from Rachels comment)

  1. members can only vote once on articles
  2. visitors view articles via search engines, so they don't compare against other members rankings, what they will find is an article that they are reading, that has been rated, which gives them confidence a sense of that other parents viewed the advice well
  3. Minti is not a popularity contest
Cheers

Re: Voting down?
If any member feels they are being attacked, you need to email rachelcook with the specific content that is being attacked. Voting down is part of how content is rated, you cannot be attacked. However, if a member feels that their content is being attacked (though members can only vote once on one piece of content) so it is very difficult to attack a members content make sure you bring it to admin's attention and we will investigate.

The goal of rating is so that content the community rates collectively benefits other parents in need. So that they can gain access to fast and quick information. When a visitor views an article it is generally from a search engine, so they don't compare against other members rankings, what they will find is an article that they are reading, that has been rated, which gives them a sense of confidence that other parents viewed the advice well.

Good question though and we will review any voting down, as well as any voting up, in any gaming of our system.

Minti is not a popularity contest
