My baby had fall and has lump.

My 10 month old fell frontwards from sitting onto tiles apparently, she cried straight away, I was upstairs and she was in the care of mother inlaw downstairs. She got a lump straight away and seamed fine all day...but now she is very restless and want to play...she is 2 hours past her bed time and won't go down, she seams happy.....do you think I should worry? What are the serious signs.

Re: My baby had fall and has lump.

In general, falls that result in unconciousness and or throwing up would be your first sign that it is serious. Other than that, you have to watch out for your baby's behavior...watch out for irritability or anything out of the norm. If you don't, I think your baby is probably fine.

If you just can't stop worrying, I suggest taking your baby to the doctor. It is better to trust mom's intuition when it comes to these kinds of things.

Re: My baby had fall and has lump.
First, I hope that she goes to sleep soon, so you can rest.  But things you need to look for, and this needs to be for at least 72 hours are: Vomiting more then 3 times in a row, irradic eye movement, unbalanced, blood or fluid oozing from ears or nose (not from a cold or normal nose bleed) Major swelling of the injury sight, cranky irritablility or just very fussy.  Extreme lethargy, loss of appetite.  If any of these appear within the first 72 hours, or you notice she is just not herself, then have her checked out.  You must be on the look out within the 72 hours as it can take that long for symptoms to appear after any head injury.
