counselling

I was just wondering if anyone knew whether you get a rebate from medicare for counselling sessions?

Government has thrown  extra finances into the mental health system(in Australia) you can go on a mental health plan with your Doctor and I am sure with referrals you can get counseling from your mental health providers. Try contacting centerlink they will give you heaps of assistance

Hi... yeah your doctor has to refer you to the councellor and also it depends if the councellor is with medicare. My councellor at the moment my doctor referred me to charges $100 a hour but since its a clinical thing i have medicare to help and i only have to pay the gap fee of $25.

yes you can but you have to see your GP to get the request form

also you can only get 6 to 12 sessions a year
