Re: Help I need some breakfast ideas for my fussy 3 yr old
Jaydee started to get fussy about brekkie - which is a pain on school mornings, as I like him to go in nice and full for all that playing.

I enlisted his help with making breakfast - so now he likes it better.  He likes to mix the scrambled eggs - which he loves to eat.  He likes to put the button down on the toaster, and he has a little plastic knife that he 'poppers' the toast with... He squishes up banana and jams it on the toast - voila, now he eats it.

I also disguise his weetbix under a spoonfull of muesli, and he likes peaches and kiwi fruit and yogurt and raisins with them too.  We make banana, strawberry, yogurt, ice and milk smoothies (my favourite), and he loves to drink it up out of a straw.

PS - to popper the toast, means to butter the toast...

If our girls are having silly food moods, we go for the bananas!  They love them, but don't always leave any for me! lol.  You could try toast too.  It's something different and he can use his fingers and make a big mess for you! lol.

when it comes to cereals give him weetbix and to stop the boredom (or wait til he goes to school whenhe knows the difference b/w weekends and public holidays from week days) let him pick corn flakes nutrigrain ricebubbles ect on weekends and public holidays. my boys are adults now still love their weetbix or vitabrits and swap around with sustain  sprts plus nutrigrain eggs toast.  They are both into fitness and eat healthy occasionally eating foods that arent healthy. I mostly have home made meals and they have learnt from an early age to balance their foods. they are 27 and 24 now and im proud of the way they go about it                          cheers annie

Don't know if you can get them there and I would not suspect they'd be the most healthy, but if my little fellow is being fussy I will give Francis a toasted strudel and top it off with a banana, or apple.. He eats it all up...

Of course you could always try mixing honey and Vegemite, ok strange but my son loves the salty sweet taste, also peanut butter and honey...
As for healthy I usually just top him of with some fruit... :)

I never seem to have an issue with Breakfast it is the rest of the day I have trouble getting him to eat...

Fruits are always good, especially ones where the peel is edible like apples.  As far as protein, my little man doens't eat much of it I'm afraid so I struggle with this too.  But on occassion, he would eat eggs and bacon. I guess you can make omelettes (cheese, bacon, ham, veggies) or any way he wants eggs (hard boiled, scrambled, over easy).  Also for fiber you can try those cereals with a lot of fiber. Though I don't know that those are a hit with kids though. Even I don't like them. It makes me feel like I"m eating wood.

Bacon, ham, sausages sounds very fatty but these are important too, especially for proper functioning of the brain. I saw it discussed on Dr. Phil once..   some bacon, egg, fruit, dairy for breakfast and it's a great way to start the day.

Now I just wish I can get my son to eat all those food groups.

Re: Help I need some breakfast ideas for my fussy 3 yr old

Here is what i do for chloe as she is very fussy at meal times as well, and i have had to say to her she cant play if she doesnt have breakfast as she have no energy...

Make her toast- and cut in too finger shapes, and spread with her favourite spread, which is cheese at the moment without margarine...

offering them a bowl of mixed fruit with a dab of yoghurt is good...
pikelets are a favourite in my house...
Milk shakes with a various of fruits, or make smoothies,...

If he likes eggs, mix cheese in it for difrrent taste...

Hope these ideas have helped.
