As some of you may recall i posted a few days ago in regards to Dakota not settling at bedtimes, she was screaming for hours on end & nothing i done would calm her down. Well i took her to the doctors today & it appears that my baby has got a burst ear drum! :(
I have to take her back again tomorrow as he wants to check if the fluid is draining properly. I feel like such a bad mum, i should have taken her earlier :(
To make it worse DH is away & i've got no help at all :(
Don't feel bad, you are not the first to make this mistake and you won't be the last.... I myself have over looked or not been able to see the real issue behind my son being an absolute pain in the bum and although it does make me feel like a bad mum, I also know I am not the only one this has happened too...
And in the end my son still loves me......
PS: And in a few years time they won't remember these things anyway... :)
But seriously don't go kicking yourself.. The fact that you got her to the doctors at all is fantastic...
Poor you, I know exactly how you feel. I spent all weekend shouting at Ruby cos she kept throwing tantrums and hitting her head into walls.. turns out today she has an ear infection. Its hard to work out whats wrong when they're so small, don't be too hard on yourself, its something thats easily treatable... and your little bubba just loves you. Good luck, hope baby feels better soon.
Don't be so hard on yourself ! ! ! You are a GREAT mum and that is shown everyday as you care for you lovely daughter . . Our little ones cry for many reasons and sometimes we all miss something. That doesn't make us bad mums is just makes us mums! . .None of us can read minds although I admit to wishing I could at times .
you took your angel to the Doctor and now she is on the road to recovery - more evidence of what a GREAT mum you are! . . .
Your poor baby, don't feel bad, like the other said. Sometimes you just can't be sure what is causing the crying in babies...Just remember, you did what you could with what you knew. It's something we all go thru. I know I have with my daughter....I hope she feels better soon.
Don't be too hard on yourself - you are not a mind reader and bubs cries can be for a number of different reasons. My Aaliyah has sometimes screamed for ages at bedtime, or even woken up in the middle of the night screaming at the top of her lungs, and I've been stumped as to what was wrong because after looking her over thoroughly she'd appear fine. Good thing you took her to the doctors when you did and didn't shrug it off as a "stage" she was going through or something - you did the right thing!
