Afternoon nap!

hi, my little girl is 91/2 months old and she goes down perfectly for her morning nap and sleeps about 1-2 hours.  However, the past month I am struggling with putting her down for her afternoon nap.  I know that she is tired by showing tired signs and when she does eventually fall asleep she sleeps for 1-2.5 hours.  Any advice on how we can make the afternoon nap a little easier?  I find that if she sleeps past 3:30 has trouble going to bed at 7 which we like her bedtime to be.

Thanks in advance to all those who respond!

Re: Afternoon nap!
I agree with Kathryn... she could be ready to transition into one longer nap instead of two shorter ones. Usually they are around a year when this happens, but like Ms Kathryn said, baby's are odd balls!

Re: Afternoon nap!
you could try and turn her two short naps into one long one? push the morning nap back 5-10 min each day and see how she goes with that... rhiannon had a gap at that age where she didn't nap at all and now at 14 months, she has fallen into a routine of one nap that can be as long as three hours straight after lunch. babies are odd balls when it comes to sleep! i dont think anyone will ever work them out cause they change their routine so often. ::P

Re: Afternoon nap!

I have been thru that with my first and now my second....Have you tried to lay her down 16-30 min earlier for the afternoon nap?  Maybe she is showing the signs when she is beyond that time it is easy for her to sleep....It happens alot to babies as their sleep patterns change so much.  Try to put her down 15 min early and see if that helps....
