Children keep vomiting... any suggestions?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any similar symptoms and what did they do? Yesterday my children just kept vomiting clear fluid and flem. They hardly eat and they only want to drink water but they would vomit it up again. All they want to do is sleep or lie down. My dad and myself also started feeling the same. Except we also feel nauseas most the time and have diahorrea. I dont think it is what we ate as the day before we both ate at different friends houses so it cant be the food. Do you think it is just some virus going around? Any suggestions would be appreciated to get my kids eating again or at least keep there food down.

Thanks

Everyone else seems to have it well in hand for you, but I will just add one thing.  Plain, salted potato chips.  They are bland, easily digested and replace the salts the body loses due to vomitting.  The starch also provides a little energy too.  Again, slowly, like a mouse nibbling a piece of cheese.

children's liquid vitamins and water in small sips (large quantities and they will throw up and remain dehydrated) people can live a couple of weeks without food so don't worry if they are not eating they just really need to keep the fluids in their system. some home made orange juice jelly would also give them some energy, increase their absorbtion of other vitamins and minerals as well as getting some fluid into them (keep all the amounts of things that they get small and frequent) ::) hope they fell better soon and you don't have it ::)

Sorry they are feeling better. I agree, it sounds like they ahve a "bug"....:(

They will need lots of fluids but I would do it slowly, sips at a time. Also bland food will help settle their litte bellys, like toast or crackers. Broth also works well. Hope they feel better soon.

Sounds like a bout of gastro. Keep up the fluids, gatrolyte or pedialyte is good, as are ice blocks, rest, and keep a bowl handy. If it persists past the weekend go to the doctor.

if you are vomiting and have diahorrea then it could be gastro, if it is it should only last for 2-3 days.  Best to keep the fluids up if you can, cause what goes out must go back in or you will dehydrate.  Icy poles are good for the kids

Take care
