TS in toddlers

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find out all i can about tourettes syndrome in 3 year olds, since my daughter was 15 months old she's done this weird thing where she flaps her arms about, kicking her legs out and pulling faces when she does this, recently she's just started sucking air in through her mouth really loud, I'm not sure why she does this i'm terrified of going too the dr and find out that she definately has TS I don't know anything about it and i'm not even sure if this is what it could be I only thought this because a friend of mine whos a teacher actually suggested this too me if any of you have a different suggestions through experience or from seeing other children go through this you're advice will be greatly appreciated

Thanx Guys

Charza

Things to do

Hi All,

Does anyone have any ideas of activities to do on the Northside of Brisbane?  My son is 6.5months old and I am having trouble entertaining him and he seems to be getting really bored at home even though I play with him and play with him some more all the time its wearing me out :)

I go to nursery rhyme readings on Fridays but unsure if there is anything else out there that I havent thought of.

Take care

Adams Mummy

teething and over tired

Help!  My 15mth old is overtired and teething.    We did the same thing that we have been doing for the past 15mths.  Bath, bottle and bed.   Tonight he woke up screaming.  He has had panadol and bonjella, refusing bottle etc..  The only thing that calms him is tv, and I really hate to do this.

How does one cope with an overtired teething 15mth old who wont stop uncontrolably crying?

uncontrollable temper tantrums

My daughter is 25 months old and there doesn't seem an end to her tantrums. I'm so scared and embarrassed to take her shopping anymore.

She constantly says no and is continuously whinging. I have tried everything. Ignoring her, trying to speak to her, time out, giving in, bribery nothing seems to work.

Everytime we go shopping it ends up me nearly about to break down from embarrassment and frustration and her screaming and kicking about wildly.

Sometimes its because she wants something example lollies or a toy or other times i have no idea they just start. She will say she wants her bottle for example and you give it to her and she keep saying no everytime you offer it to her. Its a dinner time as well or just randomly through out the day.

PLEASE I NEED HELP! I don't know what else to do!

WHAT IS HIS PROBLEM? IS IT ME?

After reading one of the other questions below I have had to add this question to all

My husband always wants to have sex but it is limited due to a medical condition I have. But the problem is it is so quick (i mean no more than 5 mins) and rarely more than once a week.He tells me it is because  i am too sexy or he wasnt ready for me to come onto him. It is driving me crazy as it used to be easy to go an hour and quite often more than once a night.

There is also times when it just doesnt go stiff. I feel like I am not attractive to him even though he always says I am. what is going on. He is only 32

I just feel so down at the moment because when i can and i'm into it it just doesnt happen how i expect.

Please help

Getting me down

I have seen a few people ask these questions so now its my time. My husband hardly ever wants to have sex (im talking, maybe once or twice a month). I have done the obvious and tried to talk to him about this on many occasions without harrassing, just trying to be very understanding of everything that he has to say. Some of the things that he says is tired, doesnt want to make it a chore and he doesnt feel that great about him self (he has put on a little weight- not much).

All of this i have taken into consideration, so i give him compliments about himself, reasure him how attracted i am to him, offer for us to go on walks and other things together (but he never wants to) And so on. I dont completly believe that these are his reasons as when he wants to 'do it' there is no worries at all. I know that there is no one else.

My problem with this is that its making me feel insecure and that he is no longer attracted to me (which i did tell him, only last weekend) he didnt have to much to say about it. I feel like the 'spark' in our relationship is no longer there at all. the love is, but the intimacy is totally gone.

Am i being silly thinking like this. If anyone could help or give advice i would be so thankful. i want to try a new aproch apart from talking to him about it, but im flat out of ideas.

thanks guys x

Photo Frustration, Please help!!

Hi all,

I have been trying to upload more pictures over the past 3 days. I am able to browse and choose my image, the file shows up in the window, I fill in the details of the photo.............BUT when I press "Upload" the file name dissapears (all other details remain) and nothing else happens.

Is this just a temporary technical hitch, is it something I am doing, is there another way i can add photos to my profile?

Thank you in advance,

Sleeping on back while pregnant

Hi everyone,

I am 25 weeks pregnant and have read/heard that it's not good to sleep on your back while pregnant, so I try not to.

Sometimes though, I wake up on my back, not realising that I have rolled onto my back in my sleep.  Is this going to cause any harm?

Thanks. x

Middle of the Night Terrors

My youngest, Joel, almost 2, for the last 3 nights, has woken around midnight and just screamed and thrown himself around for about a half an hour.

I've done all the obvious stuff, changed him, offered him a bottle ( only to have it launched back at me ), and tried to hold him close and hug hjim but he fights me and won't allow me to.

By day he is a lovely natured sweet, smart toddler, but his recent nightly actions have me concerned.

Any suggestions, ladies?

How can I make bed time easier?

My daughter is 9 months old and she has started resisting and fighting bed time.  Whether it be naps or "night-night", she will scream and cry for hours.  She is fed and changed and we have never had this problem before.  Nothing in her routine has changed.  We have even tried making bedtime a little later.  What do I do?

HATING TOOTHPASTE

Hi there all,

I have a rather large problem with my almost 7 year old he has some major tooth decay on his back molars that are being removed due to me letting him go to bed as a toddler with a bottle (yes I feel terrible about it I didnt realise milk at bed time could cause so much damage) But the problem is he hates anything mint flavoured and gags and almost vomits if I make him use toothpaste. We have tried other flavours such as bubblegum, berry and lemon, but they all have that same mint undertone. So he has always brushed his teeth with salty water. He drinks a lot of water but the dentist is saying that he needs to use toothpaste to get the extra flouride he needs, I explained to him about the mint problem and he just said i have to force him to use mint toothpaste.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I can use for him to brush his teeth with, with the flouride he needs but no mint????
