Re: what foods?
Hi, both of my boys have had trouble in this area & my oldest is now 29 months and still has to have prunes everyday or he has trouble. I suggest plenty of water & give him a prune or 2 everyday - you can get them in tins & they are nice and soft, my sons eat them like you are giving them lollies! Pears are also good & try to avoid too much apple as that constipates. Also try a high fibre breakfast. Too much fibre can also constipate so don't over do it.

Re: what foods?
Try prunes and mix it with oatmeal.  I`d give my little one pureed squash which is rich in fiber.  You can also massage his tummy with olive oil.  Give him tummy time as well.  Let him sit in the bath tub with warm water in it.

Hope this helps.

Re: what foods?

As far as foods go, I believe that bananas can sonstipate little ones. We use Flax Seed Oil with our son to help his out. He also takes fiber in his formula. He is out of th enorm. because he takes formula still at 14 months old (he is tub fed). We found that using the formula with fiber in it helped alot.

Adding water is another great way to help as well.

Re: what foods?

Increase his fibre and all will be flushed into the world. My oldest daughter had a great deal of difficulty in this area, she dran prune nectar for juice, watered down but it was enough to get her moving again.

In her cereal I would add a pinch of unprocessed bran and although I processed her food in a blender I would still us corn/bran or some other high fibred type ingredient.

My grandson is almost 6 1/2 months he also requires a higher fibre diet and my daughter is using oat bix incase he also has a wheat intolerance this seems to be moving things along.

Plenty of water and juice especially if the weather is hot.

Best wishes!

Re: what foods?
Perhaps increase water in his diet rather than just giving him milk as this can help with the digestion of the food.
Also try giving him wholegrain bread as an alternative to white bread as it has more fibre in it.... making it easier to digest and perhaps increase the amount of fresh fruits in his diet such as watermelon, mango etc.
No cheese just yet i wouldn't think, but if he does eat it....only small amounts!
Hope this helps a little.
PS.... Try giving him prune juice diluted in water to ease the constipation! It works wonders for alot of babies
