Pregnancy question

No, it's not another "how do i know if i'm pregnant" questions.
I was just wondering is it normal to be sore on the external down below in late pregnancy.
It's to the point where i can't wash myself properly, wipe myself properly, etc and walk like i have a massive pole shoved up there.
Any suggestions?
I have a routine gyno appt on friday.....
Thanks.
P.S....have tried sleeping with pillow between legs but that makes me worse.

Re: Pregnancy question

It does sound like the baby is pretty low, if this is your first they can engage very early on...but for the others, it should not really hurt to clean there.  Does it burn or sting?  Is it red?  If so tell your doc and see, it could be irritation from clothing to an infection.  As it's more engored from all those hormones and extra fluid....Certainly give your doc a call to see what they say....Good luck and it's almost over!!!

Re: Pregnancy question
I don't know how late you are in your pregnancy, but for me, the feeling of something big, like a ball, between my legs means the baby has engaged and pretty low in my pelvis. My son and my twins got in and out of this position, so the discomfort wasn't continuous. But in the very very late stages of pregnancy (as in 1 - 2 weeks from birth), the feeling of a ball between my legs was constant.

Re: Pregnancy question
try swimming or walking in deep water. this helps me with my problems. It takes some of the pressure off, and i feel better for the rest of the day.

Re: Pregnancy question
i had that with my last 3, and had quicker labours.  With my first, it was like she wasn't there, except for the big bump, and she was my longest labour.  I found cool baths helped, or super warm ones, but it depends on the weather too.

You didn't say how far along you are, but if you are close to your due date, then it probably won't be long now.

Re: Pregnancy question

Ah yes I remember the feeling well. You will get pressure in your pelvic area as the baby sits lower properly engaging his her head. Sleeping with the pillow is a great idea and so is the bathing to relieve the weight on your ligaments. Unfortunately sorry to say that feeling didn't go until the baby was born. But hang in there it is all worth it. don't sit for long periods of time as it adds pressure, try and lie down and walk in short periods. Good luck with it and I hope you can get some relief.

Re: Pregnancy question
yeah its normal. baby is probably getting ready to come out. I know of someone who could barely walk for about 8 weeks before bubba came out. Good luck! try haing baths, and talk to your doc he might be able to help more.
