wind

my little one suffers from wind now and again ....he went to sleep at 8pm easily then woke at 8.30 with wind....he cried and grizzled for about an hour then back to sleep...i massaged his back, pulled his knees to his chest and gave him some brauer colic drops which seem to work somewhat.

it upsets me to see him in such pain...wondering what other parents do when their little one has/had wind.....ta rue

Re: wind

As well as bringing his legs up to his chest you could try moving them like he is riding a bike. Found this helped for my little one. He got it really bad after i had eaten choc (breastfed).

Re: wind
When by son gets it I like to lay him on his back and tap his belly.  He likes it, plus I can hear how much and where the air is.  If it's up high I just burp him,,,I usely tickle his tummy or move his tummy in a circular motion....If it's low then I sit him up or tickle him to make him toot...He loves it and he feels much better afterward.

Re: wind
Hi there,

Wind can be so very very cruel and sadly there are too many products available out there that really don't do that much . . .  There is some GREAT advice already here for you BUT another great tip is to elevate the head of the cot. Just having bub elevated as your bub sleeps will help a great deal.

Good luck Kellz

Re: wind
My Aaliyah used to get wind quite a lot, and it only got worse when we changed her from Breastfeeding to bottlefeeding at 5.5months. We started of with S26 brand of formula, but she use to get very windy and heaps of pain, until we found a formula designed to combat wind and severe colic sold through our local chemist. If you bottlefeed, you could try changing formula's and see if that helps as it worked wonders for my little girl. The formula brand is here

Re: wind
We have found this with all four of our girls.  We dealt with it by laying them on their backs and pulling their legs (knees) upto their chest.  Even got a rocking motion going, which they loved.  Shame about the noises they made though! lol.  Also, tummy time.  let him lose on the floor on his tummy, you could even roll up a small towel/blanket and put it under his tummy.  This adds extra pressure.  I hope he loses this stage soon.

Re: wind

Grub suffered terrible wind when he small, both when breastfeeding and bottlefeeding. I assume that being at daycare he's is bottle fed, so possible experiment with some different bottles and teats. For us it was the nuk teats that worked. Or you could try giving him the wind/colic drops before a feed, that also worked for us.

Re: wind

ta

he was upright for an hour after his feed youd think air would have come out

the tricky thing is he only suffers from this about once a month so we dont see it coming

ill look into some other teats for him
