You mentioned wheezing, isn't that sometimes a sign that a child with allergies has come in contact with that allergy? Maybe she did get into something with nuts or eggs in it????
I'm hoping that the wheezing is not related to the allergies. She has had a cold w/ cough for over 2 weeks. This morning I heard the wheezing, so it could be either, though I hope the cold....I'm watching her as she seems better after her nap now....Wish me luck!
I'm not sure about an allergic reaction, but do know you can have a fever without having the sweats. You say in your blog that she has had this terrible wheeze and cough for 2 weeks , that doesn't sound like a allergic reaction. If it was my child, i wouldn't be waiting for a nurse or doctor to ring back, i would have my child straight to the doctor's or hospital, it might not be nothing, but for peace of mind, i think she needs to seen by a professional.
I hope you get some answers soon, it's never nice having a sick child.
The wheezing and coughing are not related to her allergic reaction. It's just something else that she has been battling....And I am very familiar with what the drill with her when she gets colds, pnemonia is a common outcome of her colds... :( ...Most of the time its lots of nebulizer medicine and she's fine....No fever, she's just saying she's cold....
I have called the nurse, and after crying to my mom, I have decided to try to get her an appointment today or tomorrow for her coughing, which is a whole other soap....for now she is resting, with benadryl on board. I checked her a bit ago and still it still huddled under the blanket, not sweating (which she always does)
Well before i can say yes or no, what type of allergy is it? A peanut allergy then yes, this can happen as it used to (Still does) happen to one of my old friends....
My advice is to get to the E.R straight away VIA AMBULANCE and then see what they say.
She has both egg and nuts allergies. Though she not eaten anything with either today. Though she could have had contact with the egg yesterday from daddy or when we went to the indoor playground today. When we got home she was eating, and she curled up on the couch and said she was really cold....
No, it is usually infection. However it say's in my little allergy book here, that if a child has allergy symptoms with chills you should see a medical professional asap. I would phone Hospital or Doc now, hun, jus to be safe.
I'm waiting for the nurse to call back. I think I'm going to try to get her in today to tomorrow. She's sleeping at the moment and is still responsive...just freaked out at the moment.
Better safe than sorry, hun. Freaking is a good instinct, it tells us something wrong. Bless we have all been there. So Big Hug and hope all is well for you both.xxxxx Winnie.x
