Grub used to react really badly to mozzie bites as well and had to have antihistamines to bring them down. But as a preventative my gp sent me to the health food shop and got this vitamin B solution called "Mozzie Free"....it works a treat. He has one dose/day. They won't go near him at all, so they attack everyone else instead. I've even started taking it myself. It takes about a week to take affect, but it's so worth it. And you only need to take it during mozzie season.

My son has the same allergy.Definately recomend paraderm plus for the itchiness. An antihistamine if its really bad. I wont use the plug in mozzie repelants as i tried one overnight in my sons room and they heat up to the point it started to melt after being on about 12 hours (overnight).  They aren't supposed to be in for more than 10hours so if its fro overnight not a good idea.

Hi Nat! Poor Chloe, it must be so annoyingly itchy for her & to have so many! There is actually a suppliment she could take that let a smell seep out of her pores (only the mozzies will smell it) that will discourage them. We used to seel it when I worked in the chemist but I'm having a hard time thinking what it was called - it was Mozi something maybe mozi off, but it was a vitamin B - one of the B's and it works great! Sorry I couldn't give you the name of it hunni, but I'm sure if you go to a chemist they would be able to tell you as I couldn't find it on the net eiter but I'm not so good at searching for stuff on here. LOL

I also am allergic to Mozzie's and will be bitten when they are in the next state, seriously if 30 people are at a party I will be the bitten one.

I found Aerogard to be the best but the Tropical strength one, if you dont have Aerogard available any repellant that is tropical strength written on it is best.

I heard people who give off more carbon dioxide are more likely maybe I dont breathe deeply :-) but whatever the reason they know where I am all the time.

I also use Mortein candle repellants in an outdoor setting and mosquito coils both effective.

Carb soda baths also alleviate the itch and an antihistermine helps as that stops the scratching.

One of my boys gets mozzie bites when there does't even seem to be any around. We use the plug-in Mozzie
Zappers, i agree they aren't cheap but they work really well and its worth the cost when they keep the mozzies at bay. We also use the Avon repellent which is fantastic - especially since we all have sensitive skin. When Bill does happen to get bites we use Paraderm Plus which has an antiseptic, anaesthetic & anti-inflammatory in it  and you can get a cheaper version form most chemists that have their own brands (you'll pay up to $10 but you can use it on cuts and everything and it lasts for ages) and sometimes i even have to resort to polaramine if the bites are really nasty and inflammed (usually at night) and i don't like to over-mediacte my boys but sometimes you just have to.Hope this helps.

mozzies?  Ok, call me dumb, but are they mosquitos?  We use lemon for bites like that.  Don't know why, but it's worked for us...also, I don't know where to get it there, but neem oil is great for them....Something I heard a long time ago on the nature channel is that these bug love certain fruit cents.  One being banana, so if you've eaten one and go out side shortly after, they target you more.  but take care, and also, try a bath with oatmeal, it's great for sooth skin itch from all kinds of things....

when you get stung by a mozzie vinegar relieves the itching . dont dilute it. i cannot even stand out the doorway to talk to hubby while he is watering the vegie patch(on times and day that is permitted). he just cant understand how he can be there for so long aand he doesnt get bitten and im there for a minute and am covered in mozzie bites.

i have tried a few things but it is my mum's remedy. i have been doing thi since a girl and i applied it on my sons when they got bitten. the youngest is like me and gets bitten constantly

Hi there, I have used in the past, a mix of equal parts pure vanilla and water in a spray bottle. Also when I have excess basil, about 1 cup firmly packed basil leaves infused in 1/2 cup water. Strain and add 1/2 cup vodka put in spray bottle.

Both should work as a repellant and should be good for sensitive skin.

I think rid do a sensitive version too but don't quote me on it.

I use " OFF " ( it's a spray thing ) for my son and that seems to work.

I've not used those plug in things ..they're too expensive.

But to sooth the bites right now..what have you got in your cupboard,

I use "Heinz " Sudocrem ( in a little Grey jar ) for just about everything and it works wonders.
