Re: help with 15mth old

My daughter is 16 months old and her routines have slightly changed over time and growth. Here is where I am today with her:

8:30am up and brushes her teeny teeth

9am breakfast (cereal with cut up pieces of fruit apple or banana, pancakes, etc) and milk

after breakfast: educational programs and her "own time". I'm on computer and supervising

Nap time 11:30 ish

After nap: Lunch

After lunch: Play and learn time/ flash cards of alphabet, animals, etc/reading books/puzzles/educational games/toys/sing songs or nursery rhymes

snack time: (juice and graham crackers or fruit or raisins, etc)

after snack: we dance around the room to fun music then color or do something new/watch a new movie, enjoy new toy, teach new thing (animal sounds, words, hand gestures) I'll also pull out the camcorder and flip the screen so she can see herself (she LOVES that) and we just record away...great memories!

Nap

Dinner and milk

Daddy Time/Family time

"Nigh-nigh"  time

To your friend: My daughter's schedule is never specific, because things change, your baby changes, your daily routine may change, so go with the flow and take your time with your little one.

Write some things you've learned from all the responses on a piece of paper and put on your fridge, and when you feel lost or think "what should I do"? just refer to the list of things you can do. If your stick to a routine, just remember that when you choose to go out, or have a guest, it just throws things off, so I think it's best to have a basc idea and work around it. Best wishes for your friend!

Re: help with 15mth old

Ok, this works for both my boys - 12 months & 2 1/2 - and has since they were both born:

They get up in the morning and have breakfast, watch ABC Kids & play for a while then brush teeth & wash face,do hair & get dressed.

We then play, read, etc and at about 10am we have a snack of fruit

at 11.30 the youngest has lunch and a cup of milk then goes to bed

at 12 the oldest and I have lunch if we haven't eaten with the youngest

after lunch it's relax time - put on a movie and lay down, hopefully leading to a sleep

Youngest wakes up around 3-3.30 and we have a snack and a drink then go outside and play - weather permiting

At 6.30pm we eat dinner then read a book or watch some tv

at 7.30 it's time to have a bath

8.30pm is bedtime and we have no fuss about going to bed, they go no probs

This works for us, the routine isn't set in cement or anything, it's quite flexible so that if we are out they don't kick up a fuss if things aren't done on time. It has always worked for us though. Hope this helps!
