Hi danni how big is the hole?

if its a small one then the gauze tape is definately the way to go if not you may need to buy some plasterboard and glue it in place with liquid nails and then use the gyprock setter/cornice cement over the top wait till its dry and then sand it smooth.  Mail me if u like my fella was a carpenter and he has a couple of mates who are plasterers by trade.

Hello again Dannii,We have done sanding while building our new bathroom last yr,you can buy these gauze like things from bunnings they are small sheet like things ,they are actually like a plastic thing with small like sqares on it and u buy a special gadget thing to hold it on to.they are not expensive either. If you go to bunnings and tell them what you want it for and describe like what i have said they can help you.they are great for removing excess plaster, you may also need a little bit of fine sandpaper just to finish it off.An electric sander also may be good but if you can find the other things I am talking about it will certainly do the job.Good luck.

our old house we were living in was an old weather board place and we were doing it up. we had to fix a few punch holes from my ex who punched a few and got it done well.

i would get the corses grain of sandpaper and level it then a few of the finest to make it smooth. this should be easy. ( i over plastered the toilet from where a gouge was taken out)
