Finance Question part 2.

Hi again all,

Another finance question for those of you in Australia. Does anyone know of any places that will let you borrow ~$30 000 if you have only Centrelink payments and no assests, to consolidate debts?

Yes, I'm still looking around and most places have said "no" because I've put hubby as the main money earner (which he is - he works full-time) and he has a default on his credit record, so I'm wondering does anyone know of any companies that will give personal loans based soley on my centrelink payments?

Re: Finance Question part 2.

We also had a default from many years back and what we did to get finace was to borrow the money to get rid of the default and clear it and once our credit history was clear we than reborrowed along with that extra amount and payed back our parents which also left us with a clear credit history for future. Becareful of smaller finacce companies because there hidden interest and fees and charges can be a real killer.

Re: Finance Question part 2.

Your going to find it hard, can you get a part time job to show stablility? or wait till your husabnds defults clear?

I know fox symes will consolidate but I'm not sure about being with centrelink. My mum is on centrelink payments and she managed to get credit cards and a new car....so I guess there must be some companies willing but maybe with good history, if you are getting it to clear exisiting debt it may be harder.

But don't give up, you just need to be creative in your approach.

Good luck

Try Bendigo Bank, I have a friend who got a car loan from them soley on Centrelink payments. Worth a shot, (if you havnt already tried them that is!) Maybe try GE Money too. :)
