$2 a tooth at our house - but my girl has only lost 2 so far. Inflation has had a big effect since i was a kid - I'm sure I only got about 10c - or is that showing my age!!!lol
For my son's first tooth , he recieved $5.00 , and AWESOME new spiderman tooth brush & toothpaste, and a letter from the fairy herself , thanking him for doing a good job of keeping his teeth nice and clean and reminding him to brush at least twice a day. He got a real kick out of the new toothbrush and note as much as the money. Now he generally gets 2 bucks per tooth cause the kid seems to loose either 2 at the same time or one a week after another.
I was always left a gold coins..When my kids are losing teeth ill be doing the same with the gold coins but for the first tooth and the 2front teeth ill leave $5.
Geez seeing the answers I am stingy. Usually 50cent a tooth, unless the tooth fairy doesn't have change and then it can be a gold coin. And if the tooth is lost or swallowed then 10c for effort.
Well, our tooth fairy generally leaves $2 - $5. Last time she only left $1.50 but also enclosed a nice note saying that she had to go to the shops to buy some fairy dust and that was all the change she had left but promised she would sprinkle some fairy dust around the room which would make the room magical!
When i was little and lost my first tooth (8yrs old) i got $5..... and every tooth after that i got a gold coin.... except for when i lost my two top teeth, i got $5 for them also!
I guess its up to the individual as to how much they feel is appropriate! My cousin only gets a gold coin... sometimes he gets a special treat (not usually a lolly) instead of money!
