Re: how to night time toilet train

My son toilet trained himself at night before he was fully trained during the day - at 20 months! We were very lucky but we had also stopped giving him drinks about 1 1/2 hours before his bedtime (unless of course he asked for a drink & then only a little one) in the hope that he would stop wetting at night. This is the best way to do it & when you notice the nappies are dry in the morning start putting his "dockies" (love that!) on and just put a waterproof cover (or shower curtain) under his sheet in case of accidents. Good Luck!

Re: how to night time toilet train

I did this a lot later and still kept my one in nappies through the night because even though my little one was potty trained through the day he could not wake himself up at night to go to toilet.  But if you are sure he's ready you can try by cutting out any drinks at least and hour before bedtime and if you put him to bed say at 7pm then wake him up at 10pm to go to toilet again, do this for a while until you are sure he can get through the night without any accidents.  I also got some waterproof mattress covers incase and if they are any accidents but there were only a few in the first week and then he was fine after that.  Hope it works out ok wish you luck.

Hi Kylie,

have you tried cutting down hiis fluid intake throughout the day and stop them 1 hour before bed and in that hour you getting him on that toilet as much as possible as kylie was never alert enough to get up and wee i used to and still do do this with kylie

Hope this helps you a little

Goodluck with it
