I always sleep on the left hand side of the bed ( if you stand at the bottom of the bed!) In all bar one house we have been in ( 10 in total) I have been the one closest to the door! Great question an dit is related to parenting as us Mum's usually have to be the ones closest to the door  for MANY reasons...loo when pregnant, quick to feed  bub, quick to get to the loo, quick to get to restless toddlers,quick to get to the loo, etc... etc...!

Right,  in my room i have a window thats right near the front door so i make hubby sleep that side! I sleep near bedroom door just in case something happens as i want first access to my kids! Not that i dont trust him to get my kids but he might get lost haha......

Always sleep nearest the door. Never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, I have alway's done that even before Motherhood. Totaly subconcious, I really dont know why?LOL.

i sleep away from the door, too!  i do think it is a male protection thing and that we do it instinctually more than consciously.

I sleep next to the door because, as the mummy, I'm the one that does the night time parenting more regularly than my husband (who has to get up for work in the morning). The children can get to me more easily and I can get up and care for them if I'm sleeping right next to the door.

Looking at the bed, I sleep on the right hand side which is closest to the door and the bathroom. The bonus is that I also have the phone on my side. I have always slept this side because hubby always sleeps lying on his right side and if he slept on the right instead of me, then he would be breathing in my face cos I like to lay on my left side..make sense?? I cant stand breathing second hand air!! lol

haha me too!! i always make Hub sleep near door no matter where we are... except when i was pregnant (TOILET!!) and till Char slept through (cos i was the one who got up at night...i tell ya a bomb could go off right beside him and he wouldnt even twinge!!)

I sleep on the right hand side of the bed and all but one house so far has meant me sleeping closest to the door.  It's been that way since way before we had kid's.

Besides, it wouldn't help with hubby sleeping closer to the door....he sleeps like a log.

i always sleep near the door because i get clostrophobic (sick and dizzy) if i dont. gotta have the door open aswell cant stand it if it is shut.

I always sleep by the door because Barry is a heavy sleeper wheras im a really light sleeper and i  always get up  first so its easier to get out of bed my side

I have always slept on the left hand side as its closer to the door to go to the kids rooms if need be,, and the Toliet lol...

I have always slept on the right hand side of the bed, so as it turns out, my partner is closest to the door.

i sleep closest to the door  his reasoning is that i can get to the kids easier lol

I sleep on the left hand side and my hubby on the right.  Just happens that nearly every where we have lived, he has been closer to the door.  It has meant though, that I am closer to the window so that if someone broke in there, I'd be the one to get them! lol.

I can't sleep on the right side of the bed as I am a left side sleeper much of the time and don't like butting heads in the middle of the night! lol.

I sleep near the door, as im the main one who gets up to the children if they get up in the night. I can also look after myself if an intruder came in also. If hubby slept near the door, the kids would wake him up all the time but because he works, im near the door and like i said before, im the main one who looks after them

Hi there interseting question,I have pretty much always slept closer to the door,so I guess if I have to get up in the night for one of the kids ,I dont disturb my husband that much.I also leave the hall way light on even now the kids are older,the light still stays on.The kids sometimes turn it off am I am like turn the light back on so nowadays I dont know if it for me or the kids .lol

I sleep closest to the door.. It is I who gets up in the  middle of the night to check the kids if they cry out... :)

i sleep near the door so if i have to get up in the night im closer to turn on the light as i am accident prone, hubby wants my spot though. interesting topic though.

I sleep near the door and it is not by choice, it just so happened that when we met he always slept on the left and that is how it has been. when we moved in to our house it just so happened that he is on the left and me near the door.

i sleep near the door for the reason that my loo is right behind that door and i dont want to wake hubby in the night when i go like 4 times. LOL but i sleep on the (looking onto the bed) right side and chris sleeps the left.
