That depends on alot of factors, from whether your mom had them to whether you get them easily. Most often early in pregnancy streach marks don't occur, even if you are very itchy, unless you have gained a ton of weight. It's later in pregnancy that you can get them. But and itchy belly does not mean streach marks...
it may just be your skin streching but (and I don't mean to scare you) it could be something more serious so i have found this great article which will explain morehttp://www.minti.com/parenting-advice/224/Itchy-skin-during-pregnancy-It-may-possibly-be-Obstetric-Cholestasis--IntrahepaticCholestasis-of-Pregnancy/
I really hope it is something as simple as stretch marks but as you will read it is something which can be over looked.
as your belly expands, the skin becomes dry and itchy, you could get stretch marks, so rub your belly with alot of cocoa butter, this usually helps keep them away.
oh isnt it annoying? lol its drives me mad i look like some strange farm animal once you itch it thats it, it spreads i just dont have enough hands haha,,but using parmers will help and the spray oils are good for when your out and about i find but my freind recomends bio oil 8 months after bub and shes still usuing it she said its great not just for steach marks but helping them and scars fade too...
My skin was SOOOO itchy when I was pregnant- all over but particularly my tummy! I used Palmers Cocoa butter formula and doused myself in it every morning. I also put olive oil in my bath and an oil spray that someone gave me! I have dry skin at the best of times, but it was incredibly dry and itchy while pregnant! LOL -I NEVER had "that glow!" On the upside....I was lucky enough to have not one stretch mark! Before you call me names- I ended up with varicose veins instead!
it could be that stretch marks are coming, but not necessarily. some women feel itchy during pregnancy from the change in hormones. all that said, you could try to rub some olive oil on your tummy or some nice cocoa butter, but i would not obsess over it. whether you get stretchmarks or not, has more to do with your genetics than how you treat your skin.
Being pregnant with twins, I constantly worry about how many more,LOL, stretch marks I might get, so my motto is- "slap that cream on every day!" There are a lot of good quality creams on the market for just this purpose, coconut butter being very popular.
Unfortunately, stretch marks and pregnancy go hand in hand. There are products out there that can help to reduce them so go to your chemist and ask them what they have to offer. Start using it now, as well as after baby is born, and it may help to reduce them, but it does still take time.
