Pregnancy Mood Swings

l have not got long to go in my pregnancy and these last few weeks l have been having bad mood swings and very restless cant stay still. l was so angry the other day l smashed my notebook pc all cos it would not turn on. Thats not me   l never let anything get to me l am care free. l have never been this bad with a pregnancy to the stage l am letting out some rage - should start kick boxing. My question is has any one else had very bad mood swings and been very restless - cant stay still have to be moving all the time?

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

I waso restless with my last pregnancy that I drove my whole family crazy. In fact, they thought that I was making the baby nutty too. But that didn't happen thank goodness. Check out this site for helpful information:

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

Yup, especially towards the end...not sleeping well due to size, not breathing well due to everything being pushed up against your lungs, feeling like a bloated whale and wanting the 'baby to be Here"

If you can, take walks to reduce the stress build up, as you are also transfering stress to your baby. Watch what you eat, caffine intake, and tonic water with lime can help with restless leg syndrome.  Try laying down on your side with a pillow between your legs and another one up against your chest and rest your arm bent on top

Baths close to delivery are not the best, so give  yourself some nice quality shower gel soaps, paint your fingernails...I remember mine were wonderful during pregnancy and get out of the frumpy 'pregnant' cloths mood with some makeup on and call a friend to go out for some window shopping, lunch, or to a local used book store to find some silly books to read....if your near water, pack a day lunch and go to the sea and listen to the waves roll in and out, the sparkle of the water....when quiet, listen to your heart and feel what you need to feel...in quiet come the answers to complications of daily life

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and can't stop crying! Mostly about nothing in particular.  I think it would be more helpful to be angry as feeling weepy all the time is really draining.  How can I help myself to feel better?

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

Ahh mood swings sounds just like me lol, one min im up and can take anything life throws at me the nest all hell breaks loose for the simplest of things and i remember being the same with my first preg too, now with a toddler were counting to ten alot and taking deep breaths, sometimes just picking up the phone and letting all your worries out helps. Right now I feel fat I want to get the labour and recovery over with, but it does calm down with baby you havent got time to think about how stressed you are. Im sure it will all clear up for you soon take care and let the ppl around you know how you feel....

hugs jo xxx

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

I would deffinantly say that im a very calm person and that not alot bothers me. My last 4 weeks of pregnancy i went through the same thing. Always feeling on edge, like the whole worlds against me... Lots of other different things. I ended up speaking to my health nurse about it, she said that it happens to alot of people towards the end. Why not you cant see your feet, its hard to get comfy- sometimes impostible, so much stress of having a new baby.

My way of thinking was that i wasnt stressed at all. But after i had Billy i realized that i was and i went back to being me again.

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

With my middle 3 I was like that.  On #5 at the moment, and I am guessing I will be the same.  You see, by your stage, you just want it to all be over with and get frustrated because it isn't.  Being on the move all the time is a side effect of later pregnancy.  You get uncomfortable no matter what you do so walking around eases it.  I  remember having nights when I couldn't even sit down to watch tele and ended up just moving around until I was that tired I was forced to sleep by my brain and body.

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

Yes, I feel the same way. I'm very moody and short tempered and feel bad because my daughter's usually the one who feels me. But then again, she doesn't help to make the situation better either (she likes to push my buttons). It's most likely just hormones going through your body. I can't promise any relief until the baby is born, though.

Re: Pregnancy Mood Swings

Rofl sorry very expensive mood you have there,.. and i was a shocker with mine snap at anyone that even looked at me side ways and it got to the stage where if i wasnt smiling everyone knew to stay out of my way hehe..

God help the person thats going into the labor ward with you, and the way to keep your bay is to take a walk outside and Scream .... It is meant to help...

Hope you feel better soon...
