Re: Things to do with 9mth old???

Laying down with him with his favourite toys and playing with him is so good for them..

also reading to him...

allowing him to play with your pots and pans and have a wooden spoon so he can bang on them as a drum.. or let him loose in your tupperware cupboard hehe..

You can make a toy shaker with an empty juice or milk container – washed, dried and filled with rice, pasta, peas, dried pulses, or even old buttons (make sure the lid is secure to avoid choking hazards).

Go to the local library and borrow some dvds, videos, or books with tapes and sit and watch and listen with  him..

Hope these ideas help..

Re: Things to do with 9mth old???

Thanks cazza,

Great Ideas, we do most of these things you suggested like reading, and lying down with him etc...  We often go to the library and just borrow books maybe its time i ventured out with a CD or DVD.   We have rice container with bits of rice in it, maybe I will get something else and fill it to a different level. Playing with the tupperware is a another good idea.

Re: Things to do with 9mth old???

Read stories to him, offer him items (safe edges etc) that have different textures, I have given my grandson (when he is at my house) a set of Maraccas and a ball with a bell in it he loves them. Talk to him, sing with him and read to him they are the best forms of communication.

Thank you,  We go to the library often and borrow books and we also have a ball with a bell.  I usually sing to him when he has his meals and we also have a nursey rhyme CD ( probably time to get a new one, this was has been played that many times)  Good ideas about the different textures.
