Has minti changed

Sorry to put it here ,but no where else where you can put anon questions in.I think Minti has changed people dont seem to respond to members blogs and questions as much as they used to.Our little communty seems to be drifting apart ,have we lost our community spirit.Or people get into there little groups and dont seem to get involved so much.Or maybe members move up the ranks and then are concidered a threat to  others.Just cant put my finger on it .Do other member feel the same or is it just me and maybe my heart isnt in it as much as it used to be.

Re: Has minti changed

Peoples lifestyles change and gone the days where some of us spend 24/7 on here ., like i used too hehe...

I do try and get around everyones blog, but just because we may not comment, doesnt mean we dont care, or maybe we have saw that person that day, or phone them...

Im sure with the questions there wouldnt be many unanswered, and if only one person answers that question, there advice may be enough to help the person that asked, and also others that read it.....

Minti is always going to be there for us all, and im happy and content with all that i do on here, and how much support i receive..., but for me now i do have studies to think of as well...

Re: Has minti changed

I've been absent the last few days, so haven't really noticed what's going on.  I think maybe Clay's sinbin threat has made us all a little more thoughtful of our use of the site.  I think that this is just part of the 'cycle' and that once everyone is back to normal ( a word I really don't like!) then Minti will pick up again.

Re: Has minti changed

Minti has grown heaps lately and with so many members I think people are just having a bit of trouble keeping up with all their favourite friends. I know Im struggling to visit ppls blogs and lounges as much as I used to.

Re: Has minti changed

I think the way minti works for me is that I'll be glued for it for weeks, then just pop in from time to time as the minutes allow me, then I'll have time again and get glued to minti again.

I don't always comment, but I am still around.

But I think it is a matter of what is going on on the outside as well.. I can't always be hiding down in my basement.. Hubby does not like that to much.. And well trying for a second/third child is a little difficult to do when one of us is in the basement and the other is upstairs... :)

Re: Has minti changed

There are a lot of old members that are not active anymore because of life circumstances, and now there are regulars that just joined fairly recently. I think life just happens to everyone. I for one was very very active the early part of last year, and then had twins, and then disappeared. Then I came back.   My twins are now 9 months old and the majority of my time on Minti is stolen.

I still enjoy coming here and enjoy making comments when I can, but sometimes I just don't have time.

Re: Has minti changed

Everything changes, nothing is permanent and i don't see that it has 'changed' in a not good way lately.  This question about blogs and people not responding has come up a few times lately but i still go around and check out loads of blogs and comments.  All i can suggest is if you feel this way make the change you want to see, i'm sure if you go around to blogs often enough people will do the same for you.

BTW, bulletin Board is a place to post non-parenting related questions as well.

Re: Has minti changed

I totally agree with frontier on this,  and i think people's  circumstances change! Sorry you feel the way you do....there will always be members coming & going but i think you will find most members keep their membership, as they know where to come for  help, advice or to catch up with friends. I don't feel our community is drifting apart at all.

Cheers Janice

Re: Has minti changed

Naghhhh - it's all good. People come, people go, some get busy , some get bored, some get precious, some get peed off and some just loose interest as their lives change.

There is always a constant influx of new people which will be new to you as well so you can minti with them probably in a different way you would minti with some of us long term members.

Re: Has minti changed

Well said, that is so true.   Also I think that people meet people on Minti and then they get on MSM and just can't be bothered or what has been said that people get busy  bored, or loose intrest.
