HAIR FALLING OUT

ok was just about to go to bed but thought id ask this first.

Well when i run my fingers through my hair chunks come out, im not exaggerating either..It also happens when im in the shower, ill rinse my hair out and ive got like 30strands all over my hands.I dont have bald spots but i am thinning out alot and can notice it on top.I had my hair cut shoulder length a little over a month ago to see if that would help but its gone worse..I wash my hair every second day and only use minimal shamps and con, also im using pantene.Has this ever happened to anyone and or does anyone have any idea what is causing this??  ive also noticed ive got a very little bit of dandruff.

Dannii xxo

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

I really hope for your sake that it stops there. I had the same problem at the end of my pregnancy with my youngest which was 3 years ago! And it didn't stop and I had a long bald strip. I got very depressed and it wasn't till a year ago when I went to the dermatoligist that he told me to use tar shampoo and it stopped. I have quite long hair and even to this day a year later it is still growing out. I am preying it doesn't happen with this one.

I agree with Crizzy, you should go to the doctors because you never know the reason for this.

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

Mine goes through cycles through the year. Kids hate it when it is falling out, as I can make huge fur balls out of the amount I lose. But the other thing I enjoy doing is running my fingers through my hair and dropping it on one of the kids . Esp if it is only one hair. It tickles them until they actually find it. I am so cruel.

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

Hi Danni,

Grrrr - the joys of pregnancy and hormones . .  Don't stress mate as it is just another one of those horrible things that our poor bodies endure as a result of being pregnant . . With my 2nd child I was losing big clumps and was freaking out. My friends and family all thought it was so funny as I was always whinging about how thick it was . . he he he

Here is a little bit of interesting info for you though .  . Did you know that everyday we losing around 100 hair follicles and this is considered normal . . .  Just a strange bit of info for you that I picked up along the way . .

Sit back and enjoy your pregnancy matey as it sounds as if everything is going along just GREAT . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

I had that with my first too, its awful but it is tempory i found boots do there own post pregnancy shampoo thats helps give you some voulume back i also found using baby shampoo instread helped the johnsons one with chamomile was the best other than that i found this link with a little home remedy for you to try aswell, the worst thing i found was using products that had a high ph factor or citrus shampoos as they strip you natural oils so be gentle avoid coulering etc oh and if the hair loss is alot each time try combing through your hair in shower whilst the conditioners on to prevent any damage with snapping through those tangles.

good luck hunni, a few weeks after bub arrives youll soon be bk to normal xox

hugs jo xxx

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

It's more than likely because of pregnancy hormones.

For me personally, it's actually the opposite. When I was pregnant (both pregnancies), the hair on my legs stopped growing for some reason so I didn't need to shave that often (yay!). But after childbirth, my hair started falling out! My girls are now 9 months old and my hair is still falling out. I heard this to be common after childbirth.  My son now has a phobia because there is hair everywhere!

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

It is a seasonal thing like my other half pointed out, but being pregnant makes it worse.  No kidding, there have been days when Les has asked me if he could use my hair to patch his own thin spots!  And these were collected after the plug hole was already cleaned.

Don't stress about it.  It is normal and I doubt you will go bald.  Grey maybe, but that's going to happen no matter what you do! lol.  Trust me, I had so many grey hairs with my first it wasnt' funny, but I was very sick at the time.

I reckon in the next couple of months you will be complaining about how thick it is!  I know I do! lol.

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

hi there hun

TOTALLY normal unfortunatly! it didnt happen to my DURING this preganancy this time my hair got really really think and my nails grew alot faster but after i ahd bub its started falling out en mass! i have hair everywhere! i think its the increase of zinc that makes your hair and nails grow and when u start to deplete again the hair starts falling out and nails get broken again. u still taking suppliments? if not give that a go im depeleted at the moment from breastfeeding so i had to start taking them again.

itll grow back!

xxxnat

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

Ah you are such a sweetie - I just love your questions - finally get a chance to answer one - its called old age - as you get older your hair starts to fall out - just joking - I know your still a baby (compared to me so dont take offense)

Its a combination - first - the hormones are having an affect - they affect your whole body - get used to it - sorry to say - the other thing - we are in Oz - summer is over - winter is coming - all animals - humans included - go through a summer and winter malt - we lose some hair and grow a slightly thicker crop for winter - then in the spring - we lose some of that and grow a slightly thinner crop for summer

All normal - at least yours will grow back -as for me - oh well - thats life

Re: HAIR FALLING OUT

It's actually quite normal when you are pregnant that your hair falls out.
It should soon after the baby is born go away, but if it doesn't talk to your doctor about it.

Everything changes when you're pregnant, your hormones are all over the place..
But it's ok, you don't have to worry about it.. I had that when I was pregnant with my daughter.
