Spotting while pregnant, too much info?

I am about 7 weeks pregnant and I have been spotting a little over the last few days. Its not very much, and its like the end of a period, brownish (its not enough to be on my underwear, I just notice it when I go to the toilet and its on the toilet paper). Could this be a sign of a miscarriage? I'm really worried.

I wold be getting it checked out as soon as you can.  maybe ask for an early dating scan to put your mind at rest.  Bleeding in pregnancy like what you have is common, though I have to say, I have never experienced it with my successful pregnancies.  It could also be there has been a pool of blood around your cervix that didn't make it out during your last period because the cervix closed up on it, now, it may have finally found its way out again.

Re: Spotting while pregnant, too much info?

I had spotting with my daughter at about 16 weeks and this pregnancy about 7 weeks (I am now about 25 weeks) .

I think its best to go to the doctor to get checked out, as the stress and worry is not good for anyone. Just to ease your mind and to ensure that everything is ok.

As others have said bleeding is definately NOT uncommon in the slightest but I understand it is still very worrying.
Good luck.

Re: Spotting while pregnant, too much info?
I had this exact same issue when I was about 6 weeks pregnant. I called my OB's nurse, and was told that it was probably implantation bleeding, even though I thought I was clearly beyond that point. She told me that a little spotting, as long as it is light pink or brown and isn't constant, isn't an immediate issue and to just bring it up at the next appointment. I'm not a doctor and I'm certainly not going to tell you what to do, but honestly, since it isn't heavy enough to even stain your underwear, I wouldn't worry yet. If it gets heavier, is accompanied by pain or turns bright red, then I think you need to worry. Do you have a number you can call for your OB or a nurse at your doctor's office? At the very least they can help you decide whether you need to go in and be checked out or not. Those first 12 weeks are so tough--no one was even allowed to SAY the m-word at my house without sending me into an upset-stomach worry session. :( Best of luck to you.

I also had spotting at 7-8weeks with my last pregnancy. I am now holding my beautiful 2 week old boy (from same preg). I was told this is nothing to worry about but you need to tell your doctor. Depending on your history he may order a scan and this will ease your mind and his (you are due for one i think at 8 weeks). good luck

Re: Spotting while pregnant, too much info?

Hey hun

This is actually quite normal to have at the beginning of a pregnancy. Some people can even get a full period for the first few months. I would say that unless it smells bad, or is a really bright red, then there is no need for concern. However, if it does get smelly or bright then get straight to a doctor or a hospital.

Hope this helps and Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I dont want to say anything to worry you so i think its best to go to drs to be checked out,i  was gonna say implantation bleeding but you say your already 7weeks along. Also some ppl still get a light period. See a doctor to be sure. There is no heavy bleeding so thats a good sign!!

Take care and please dont stress.

also this may seem really dumb but do you have a coloured pattern on your toilet paper???

A few times ive looked at my toilet paper after doing a wee and its ran into the colour and i thought it was blood.
