important

hi everyone.

i have a very important pregnancy question. i am 3 months pregnant and my stomach hurts constantly. is this normal?

i was saying that it's probably because of my expanding uterus. if it is normal why don't they talk about all these little things in the pregnancy books?

Re: important

If you havent seen a doctor, you should probably go see one, just to be sure. When I was pregnant, through out the whole pregnancy my stomach hurt, and I was told by my mom, and others that it was because of my expanding uterus. Though you do wanna get it checked out by the doctor in case of anything else. If they say youre fine, then have no worries..

Re: important

There are many things that pregnancy books, doctors and midwives fail to tell us about pregnancy, and this is one of them.  I'm onto my 5th baby, and have found that right from the start with all of them, I have had cramping and aches in and around my stomach.  It is all normal for me, as it is for most women.

I have found that the lower part of the uterus in early pregnancy has suffered from this more due to the fact that it is being squeezed tighter because of its placing.  This has progressed to the whole uterus as the pregnancy has progressed and usually has indicated that there has been a rapid growth period either about to start or just finishing.  Just ask your back if it is keeping up.

Even later in pregnancy, we call them braxton hicks contractions because it does squeeze like a contraction would, can be just as intense and is felt usually just in the tummy muscles, though back muscles may join in as well.

Any time you have bleeding with the pain, then it should be checked out asap.  Also, you may feel a burning and pulling sensation around your cervix, something that intrigued me until I figured out what it was.  Just them closing, cleaning themselves and getting ready for the big stretch.

Hi there,

I have a fantastic pregnancy book which has been passed down from my sisters. Its called CONCEPTION, PREGNANCY AND BIRTH..Its a really thick book and its got everything in there.Try looking in a book store for it or even see if a library has the book.It is normal to have stomach cramps, i remember when i was 3months my mum came here at 2am cos i rang her at work crying cos i was scrared. Its just everything stretching and your uterus is moving its way up. Im 26 wks pregnant and im now just getting over the pains of my ribs pushing out but now i get the pains from baby kicking them :(    Just bring this up with your midwife at your next appoinment, and they will assure you things are fine..If the pains get really intense then ring the hospital and they will help you and also if any blood appears get to thehospital asap.

Dannii xxo            ps: try and get the book..

Re: important

It could just be from everything expanding - as the uterus expands everything else in your stomach is pushed around & this can cause pain. However, never take chances with pregnancy - get a check up just to be on the safe side.
