howdy, no it doesnt affect rankings at all, wouldn't have been a very smart move if we did that!!!. Compliments and gifts are just a lovely way to show the Minti Love!!!

If you seriously consider it might be a problem then you should contact admin, or blog about it in one the appropriate groups, or add a comment to the blog about the new features.

I think it is a sweet gesture to give and receive compiments - though I am flummoxed by the mother theresa one.I

I really think you are trying to stir the pot here, and guess what - IT'S NOT WORKING! Nobody is thinking they are better than anyone else, it's just a nice feature that makes us all feel good when we log on & see a compliment....if you are really worried about getting compliments give some to someone you believe deserves one & you might get one back!

It will only be a problem for those who think it is a problem and judging by the comments here it seams to have gone down pretty well.

Compliments to minti for adding some spice to the site.

i think this is a fantastic idea and a great thing for minti im sure everyone on here are adults so no one should be upset by this function if they get upset maybe they should stick to reading books and go back to 20th century lol

I love them. it is a good pick me up and boost when i get home from work.

No member should be here for the rankings at all.  It should purely be about sharing and caring.  Minti for me is my lifeline, sanity saver and stress relief.  Actually, it is also physical therapy for my wrists (got a bad unfixable chipped bone in one) so is helping me to stay of pain medication too.

The compliments are a good idea, as long as it doesn't affect our rankings 'cos that isn't fair if it does.  I was actually thinking the same thing last night, so great minds think alike.

Seriously, just enjoy the time you spend here and forget the numbers and stuff!

What I'd like to know is; other sites have the same sorts of features and no one gives a toss, why is it all such a big issue on Minti?

It doesn't effect rank from my understanding. Also if you don't worry about what other people think then it wont bother you. If someone thinks that they are better than you over a compliment that was given on the net then they have issues. I think it is a lovely way to say something nice about someone else!

I kinda agree, but it doesn't bother me..  I guess it just goes to show how popular you are because u either have a lot of friends or getting lots of compliments from a few people.  I doubt it changes the ranks tho.

What do you mean by you think that some members think they're better than anyone else?? I've just deleted a question about compliments in here, and deleted it and put it into the bugs function group to why mine doesnt' show up and others does, are you referring to that or what exactly are you referring to please?
