Re: Nappies

Hi, I have used Aldi and found them very good but have switched to Woolworths Select as I don't live near an Aldi and haven't had as many trips to places that do have Aldi. Woolies select are great. I have heard that the Aldi nappies have changed though in the last month and aren't as good any more. Also, you need to be aware that there are two brands of Aldi nappies. The good ones are Mammia.

Re: Nappies

I have heard that they are very good! We unfortunately have no access to Aldi! I have tried just about every type of nappy and eventually conceded that Huggies were the best for night! But as we all find that different undies fit better depending on out shape ....it will depend on your individual bub! I also found that Babylove were very good nappies. I wanted to go the cloth nappies, but bub developed such a a severe nappy rash in hospital( even with liners) that the midwives advised disposables! I later tried them again with teh same result.....so to disposables we were tied! So during the day, we went the cheaper option when nappy busting ( leaks and squirts) aren't such an issue and then went the Huggies at night! As soon asthe cherub was upwardly mobile, I chucked her in undies during the day and went from there!

Re: Nappies

My son wears cloth nappies and I dont have any trouble with nappy rash.  Do you know why she was having such a hard time with it?  Were you changing her nappy frequently and when she poos?

Re: Nappies

I don't generally use Huggies (although they are often available for sale online at Babies Galore).

When using disposable nappies we use SAFETIES - 100% biodegradable and gentler on baby.  Available at IGA and at various online stores.

Otherwise we use fitted cloth nappies, such as BABY BEEHINDS and PEAPODS.  You pay for the initial outlay but save 1000's, plus they are so gentle on the environment and baby's bottom, and look good too!

Re: Nappies

Hi,

I have not tried Aldi nappies but a few friends have. They said they are great.  I do not live close to Aldi.

I use Huggies at night. Toys r us usually have them on sale...or i stock up when on sale. I use Snugglers or the baby love ones in the day.  They are both ok. I have 2 boys and so far no leaks in the day usage. Just not happy to use them for long periods. Have had them leak when used over night.

Re: Nappies

Lillian is only 3 months old so not quite sure if the age makes a difference.

But during the day I use cloth nappies with coles liners (only around 3 to 3.5 for a pack of 100 and they are washable once so you can use them twice).

At night I use Aldi but I also fold a facecloth up (each side to the middle then all folded together giving 4 layers) and put a nappie liner around it.  So far she has not woken up, no leaks and she is completely dry the next morning.

Re: Nappies

I've never used Aldi brand myself but I've heard others say that they are very good. As you would know, there are plenty of brands of nappies available. Try going onto company websites & asking for samples. I used to use lullaby - I found them quite good & they're cheaper than huggies. I think huggies are way over-priced.

Re: Nappies

i'm lucky, i stocked right up on huggies nappies when they were going out fot $29.99 :)

my cousins uses Aldi ones, and apparently they're pretty leaky :( my sister has also tried the toys are us brand, they're a bit leaky too, but she says she pretty much doesn't have any troubles with thsoe during the day but can't use them at night cos by the morning it's flowing out the sides. so what she does is use the cheap brand during the day and then uses a huggies one for night time to keep him dry, you can try that with the aldi ones to save some money.

Re: Nappies

Hi, when our son was little (we live in Australia) and was in nappies we managed to locate a supplier called 'Nappies for Nix' - they were a company that sold really good quality nappies from a garage and they were considerably cheaper than they'd have been if you were to buy them in a supermarket.  We used to by about 4 large packs of 80 nappies (per pack).  So, I'd try to scout out a wholesale supplier in your area.  Maybe check for one using the phone book, or internet search engine.  Good luck.  I hope this comment proves to be if some use to you!

Re: Nappies

No, sorry I don't know of a wholesale supplier in Perth, 'cos I live in country NSW, however maybe check out your phone book, or an internet search engine - those may be able to help you.  I'd type in words like wholesale nappies direct to public.  Good luck.

Re: Nappies

I can't remember when I last bought Huggies - not since my daughter was about six months I think.  With both my kids we used Huggies to start with, then we went to Huggies at night and cheaper ones during the day, but now I am happy with the cheaper ones for both day and night - though we use cloth ones while we're home.  However I only buy the Aldi ones, Baby Love and now Coles brand.  They are all good - the other brands I tried leaked too much or gave my daughter bad nappy rash.  Try them and see!

Re: Nappies

They're tops. Slightly bulkier than huggies nappies, both when dry and wet, but I think theyre one of the better discount brands.

Re: Nappies

Aldi nappies are fantastic, i put my bub in cloth nappies because he leaked out of all the disposable brands, that is until i tried the Mamia nappies from Aldi, no leaks. The have velcro tabs like the leading brands, and a wetness indicator printed on them and have animal prints across the waistband. A pack of 56 newborn/small nappies that fit 3.5-6kg cost $15.99 each.  They are better than Huggies.  I have just bought the Mamia baby wipes, haven't tried them yet but they were $2.99 for a pack of 80, they are in a soft plastic packet but have a hard snap on lid, so no more sticky seals that lose their stick!

Re: Nappies

We love the Aldi brand of nappies!  They are just as good, if not better, than the top brand named nappies and they even have pull up pants too!  Les makes a trip to Aldi every fortnight just to get nappies!

Re: Nappies

I know a lot of ppl swear by them. I also like babylove, good quality and often on special. Cosifits from the chemist are $20 for a jumbo pack as well. A lot of the cheaper brands are just as good as huggies, i usually go with whats on special that week. Try taking the calculator and working out which is the best value per nappy. Cuties nappies are online, they sell 288 new born size for $50 plus delievery. With 3 in nappies, i have researched prices a lot LOL

Re: Nappies

I haven't bought them but have been wondering the same thing. I don't use many disposables (just when out) and would love to know what the Aldi ones are like too!
