when i was about 3 or 4 years old i was the same. i never talked i just made sounds but after a while i grew out of it. there may not be anything wrong, you just gotta keep encouraging yours to try and talk but i think you just might need to give it some time.

I would be playing 'deaf' until he asks for what he wants or tells you with words!  Had to do it with our 4 year old too, and have to keep reminding her she has a tongue! lol.

Have you discussed the problem with the day care?  If you ask the person in charge of the room your son is in, she will be able to help.  Explain to her the strategies that the speech therapist has recommended and ask for these to followed through out the day.  Day care staff are normally happy to co-operate with you and  this will reinforce the need to communicate to your son.  Often children just find it easier to gesture rather than think about what they want and use the appropriate words. 

My son required speech therapy and we found he improved dramatically when everyone around expected him to try to say his words clearly.  We played dumb a lot of the time and pretended we weren't sure what he wanted.  We asked him questions until he came up with a clear verbal response.  We can't shut him up now. lol

Good luck, it sounds like you are on the right track but these things take time.

if u are doing what the professionals are telling u to do there is nothing more u can do.

have u taken him to see a peadeatrition? ( childrens specalist?) if not take him to see them.

Have you had his hearing checked as my gf daughter was the same and didnt relize she was partly deaf and now wears hearing aids.
