IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
Hi everyone,
I had the Implanon inserted on the 11th of March and I was hoping I would not get my period but I did as I have heard some woman dont get them at all. Its not really a normal period but it has lasted for about 9days now and becoming very annoying. Has anyone had this inserted and did they have the same problem as I am having??
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
i had the implanon put in after my second child and found that my periods became excessivley irregular sometimes only a few days apart then none for a few months and the cramping got worse and heavier bleeding. i also would have a period for a few days one time then it would last for weeks another time, also i was steadly putiing on weight . i'ld had it in for about a year and it didn't get better so i talked to my dr and he recommended i have it removed.
hope it settles for you soon and doesn't become the horror i had.

i had the implanon in for nearly a year and it was hell from start to finish all i had was bleeding and when i didnt i had bad discharge, sex was so rare that i thought i would heal up!!!! when i had it put in the doc said that there are three types of people one who doesnt bleed one who has normal perid and one who bleeds all the time well i was the latter and unlucky one....
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
I am on my second implanon. I had alot of bleeding problems with the first one and was thinkingabout not getting another but when i went to a new doc (because we moved house) I found out it was put in wrong and that was the cause of all the bleeding.
I have my second one now for about 6 months and i have had no bleeding what so ever.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
Hi there! I had one in for 2 years. I found that for a few months it was all over the place - then it settled down and I didn't get any at all. It was ok, but when I had it removed I found that I lost weight easier and our s e x life improved dramatically (had obviously interfered in the hormones some how). Anyway, maybe just try it for a few months but if you're not happy there are other options. My GP won't touch implanon at all - doesn't like it, so I had to go to the obstetrician and after baby number 2 i went with mirena as I didn't want to go back to implanon.

ask to see a gyno as i had the depo shot (its ruffly the same as the inplant but u have to have a shot every 3 months) and it triggered my endo metrosis to go heywire ( i bled constantly for 9 months :( ) get them to check u out to make sure u dont have endo or PCOD.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
i got mine put in on the 17th of march, lol.. and i bleed / spotted up until a few days ago, my doc said it was normal and to give it a few months to settle in before i know what type of period to expect.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
In most women the period either stops altogether, or it at least becomes very light. But not always. I had the implanon and it made my period worse. I was getting it about every 2 weeks and heavy. I kept it in for about a year to see if it would settle but it didn't.
For yourself, give it another 1 - 2 months as it can take time to settle. If it hasn't changed by then, have the rod removed.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
I had Implanon for about a year and in the beginning periods were as normal after about 5 - 6 months I had a very light flow lasting 1-2 days and then didnt get them at all. So give it about 6 months and if you are still unhappy go back and see your doctor, getting the implanon taken out was much less painful then having it in. It is a good form of contraception as you dont have to worry about missing pills etc.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
I had the implanon implant in for 2 years, i would have a light period that lasted around 2 weeks, but had minimal period pain. After i had it removed it took 2 years to fall pregnant. I had another one inserted a few weeks ago. Some people do not have periods at all while using implanon, some have heavier periods and some have constant spotting. It's different for everyone, the benefit for me is not having to worry about contraception.... if it cause too many complications for you, you can have it removed
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
i got mine put in december. got my period a week earlier and it lasted twice as long, then got it again 2 weeks later :( and i got really bad mood swings, was really teary. then i was spotting for a few weeks, but since then i've had no bleeding at all. and the mood swings have settled down, just get a "hormone surge" every once in awhile. so i'm not having any problems now with it.
if you're wanting a contraception so that you won't get periods at all, this isn't the thing for you as it's not guaranteed, in fact it's not made so that you lose your period, you're still supposed to get them, but if you happen to lose thm on it it's a bonus.
i'm on the implanon for the pure fact that i used the pill and still ended up pregnant, so i needed a different type of contraception. i was quite close to getting it taken out in the beginning but it's sorted itself out now.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
i had it.... would never have it again! it took 2 and a half hours to have it dug out of my arm with two docs doing it after i gained 30 kilo in a year! and i bled non stop for 2 months. noooot for me!
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
Oh Sh@#$%t really!! I am not very good with needles. Funny you say about the weight gain cause I am starting to notice the love handles are getting larger and I am a skinny girl. I noticed the other day when I put my jeans on and I couldnt find a top to hide the unsightly things. lol. Did you have to go to a Special Doctor to get it removed?? Thanks for your advice. xx
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
no special doc just my gp then the other gp at the surgury, they closed th docs down and ended up both in there digging it out and then went to call an ambulance but i made them give me another shot of anethetic and try again and they got it in once peice PHEW! it had grown fiberous! had all these gross things growing off it ewwwww
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
hey!
two of my friends got the implanon and had to get them taken out because their periods wouldnt stop, if yours continues on like this, go and get it taken out and try something else.
I personally do not like the implanon after some horror stories i have heard, i hope it all works out for you.
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
Oh no!! It really hurt when I got it put in and did for about a week after that. I got it put in because I have been having really bad periods for about 8mths and had to call an ambulance the month before insertion as they were that painful I was doubled over in so much pain....it felt like I was going into labour then I had a panic attack. God I hope they stop! I am just forgetfull when it comes to taking pills. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it. xx
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
No havent heard of that and I really didnt know about the Implanon either. Maybe I will go to the Doctors on Monday and organise to have it removed. xx
Re: IMPLANON - Has anyone got this?? This one for Girls only! LOL
Maybe while there you could ask about a Mirena. I have heard these are good. I actually have one inserted at the moment, but it wasn't for contraception. Hubby is fixed, but mine were for massive periods. Just ask about your other options when you go to the doc.
