I gave birth at 19 weeks and of course lost my precious little girl... Afterwards I was bleeding for 3 weeks and then it stopped and now 10 days later I am bleeding again. Is it just leftover bleeding from the birth, or is it hormonal changes, or my period? Anyone else experience something similar? Thanks.
I bled for upto 8 weeks with all my kids, and been told it is common. If the bleeding is excesively heavy, where you feel you are changing pads etc every hour, then get it checked out.
The fact you stopped and then started could suggest you are coming back into your regular cycle.
Hi, for me to be able to give you the best possible advice i need to know if this was a miscarriage or still birth? As the answer verys greatly to each. The best advice i can give you for the moment and the smartest, is to call the ward at the hospital of which this occurred and speak to a midwife on the ward. They will have access to your files as you have just left and will most likley call you in to do a check up and see if you are ok or not or if your concerns are normal or if there is relevants to be concerned with. Here are two links that will give you brief information on your situation http://www.miscarriagesupport.org.nz/health.html Bleeding after miscarrriage. http://www.gynob.com/lochia.htm is called Lochia. Hope this can help. If you have any pain, or bad smelling oddor see you doctor immediatly.
Hi, being it was before 20 weeks it is labled as miscarriage, but I went through an actual birth with contractions and pushing... I was told that I would bleed like after a normal birth so about 3 weeks, which I did.
The bleeding that started yesterday morning has just stopped, so only about 24 hours. I had normal period cramping yesterday but that is all gone now.
I have a 6 week appointment scheduled which will be in another 1 1/2 week.
Guess I will just keep an eye on what happens next... Thanks for your reply though.
