I think others have answered your question but i thought I'd let you know that when my son had eczema, i had him allergy tested and eggs came up as a reaction - i wouldn't have known. The Doctor did say it was mild and he would grow out of it. But yeah, it's the white that you should introduce after 1 year of age, he should be fine with the yolk now, just look for reaction.
I was recommended to try our bubs on the egg yoke from 8 months and then the white from 12 months. We were advised to boil a whole egg and give tiny amounts of the yoke, increasing this amount gradually over a couple of weeks. Then the same teqhnique for the white. Our daughter, now 14 months enjoys the entire egg made into omlettes with added ingredients such as spinich, cheese, grated carrot, mushroom, ham and cheese, or many other combinations. It can be a great way to disguise vegies! Of course once you are sure there is no allergy, then the yoke or white, or whole egg can be added to other ingredients and incorporated into meals. Always make sure the egg is well cooked. Hope this helps!
from what i know, you can give egg yolks to babies from 8 months, but you shouldn't give them egg white til a year, egg is one of the top 8 allergens, if they're allergic they'll generally have a runny nose, itchy eyes or a skin rash, very severe allergy will result in anaphylaxis which is life threatening. so i wouldn't risk the egg whites til later, but try the egg yolk, keep an eye on bub for a few days after eating it though.
At 10 months a baby can try just about anything he can handle. Sometimes babies are allergic to eggs so just give him a try & see how he goes. If he is allergic he'll most likely develop a rash.
Eggs carry Salmonella, which can be fatal to a child. Its best to not risk it and give your
baby a different kind of protein, that would be easily digested. Ground chicken, Turkey and Soy proteins are good alternatives, if your baby can be introduced gradually and lightly to them. Reading a baby diet book is the best advice I can suggest.
i think the main reason why people are hesitant feeding babies eggs is due to the risk of being allergic to eggs...i've been extremely lucky as my kids haven't been allergic so we usually tried them with lightly scrambled ,boiled or poached eggs at about your sons age we would let him/her try it. I also use to give my kids a can of egg custard from Heinz or Golden Circle ( also mixed with apple or pear, yummy)
