Tips please?

I have a rental inspection tomorrow, and my house is far  from being ready, I was just wondering, when you are expecting house guests and ur house looks like a pigsty, what do you rekon is the easiest way to clean up in next to no time?

And please dont suggest throwing everything into the cupboard - a couple of ppl have already told me to do that but Id rather not because if Im gonna do the job Im gonna do it properly so I dont have to do it again later lol.

Re: Tips please?

Lots of great music turned up loud!  Ear plugs for the kids and just perform your songs while cleaning.  Make sure you have confiscated anything that could be used to take pics or video! lmao!

Sorry sweetie, but I hate cleaning with a passion! Only way I can get through it is to torture my family with my off key voice! lol.

Re: Tips please?

music on loud and get your boys to help I only have two boys so I split them by getting one to have twenty minutes on the PS2 whilst the other one helps me I only get them to do a maximum of 40 minutes cleaning as I don't like the idea of them being on the PS2 for two long.

you will find that they enjoy spending the time with you and you can get through some of the jobs a lot quicker and can have some fun games at the same time.

Re: Tips please?

No, I would never say throw it all in a cupboard - the laundry is better, there's more room, lmao!

Seriously, though, all you can do is just get stuck into it! When I have a big clean up like you are saying I put on music - I find if I'm singing away it makes things easier.

Get the right sort of cleaning products that will do the job properly. I've often brought cleaning products that are useless (usually the cheap stuff). I now prefer to pay a little extra so the jobs done right the first time. A good product for the bathroom is White King spray-on bathroom cleaner - you spray it on, leave it for 5 - 10 minutes, then just wipe off. There's other good ones, too, that do the same - spray, leave, wipe, makes it easier.

Have fun!

Re: Tips please?

I'm going thru a big cleaning now and I find that tackling a section at a time is best.  Instead of runing around putting things where they belong in all the rooms, group things together and when you get ready to go to that room then bring them with you.  Ie, if you have clothes, and toys, papers and say plates.  Seperate them into piles and then when you are done with the one room take all the stuff and then put them into the rooms.  Then go onto the next and so on and so on.  Also try to use one cleaner for as much as you can, that way your not having to change so many things like sprays and wipes to clean different stuff.  I use windex for everything except wood, and for wood I use pledge.  Makes cleaning easier.  Also, for the seperation part, if you have several baskets you can place them in the comon area, like the kitchen and/or living room and then put the stuff for each room in the appropriate basket to take later on.  Good luck!!!

Re: Tips please?

their a people that you can get to come clean your house for you everything from vaccuming to cleaning the oven but i find that its best to do it yourself so that things dont go missing or get put in the wrong spot so that you will never find it

i have found myself that there is really only a few things that you need such as

MULTI PROPESS CLEANER-for benchtops bathtubs and walls for ie pen marks

WINDEX- windows etc

Shake'n'vac - makes carpet smell nice

should only take an hour or 2 with this stuff

Re: Tips please?

If you start by doing your normal daily cleaning then from there do all the other things that get done on a weekly basis you might find that it wont take as long as you think. I find that i clean better when the kids are down for the night.

Gook luck with the inspection

Re: Tips please?

i always start with the easiest things first like the dishes and then the sweeping, mopping and picking up toys and vacuuming the floor. Then you move onto bleaching/ cleaning bathroom laundry kitchen etc. put you washing in a basket so that it is tidy and then fold down the clean stuff and put that away.
It is time consuming but it will help if you can start to do things as you go along!
