What Should I Do?

My 8 month old daughter was diagnose with strabismus yesterday 4/30/08. The doctor decided not to do anything at this time and requested that we return in six mos. Do you think the doctor decided not to do anything because her eye's are straight for the most part? Do you think the doctor should at least started the patches? Should I get a second opinion? And is there anything I can do from home to help her with her eye muscles.

All for a second opinion.

The best part of being a woman is our wonderful intuition.

Do what your intuition tells you.

I personally wouldn't wait 6 months.  A second opinion can't hurt.

Good luck =)

Re: What Should I Do?

Ask for a referral to an opthamologist (eye specialist). 2 of my sons have gone through this. The middle child, (A) who has been under specialist care for 11 years. His have straightened very well, still has no depth perception but that is a minor problem now. The youngest, who saw him for a while, has now no promblems.

A had drops put into the good eye, so that the lazy one had to work harder to see properly.

Re: What Should I Do?

Hi, I think you should get a second opinion definetly. My sisters twin girlls both have to wear glasses now because the surgery wont help because it was left to long, but they had a bad case of it. Just get a second opinion.
