Re: How do u know ??

MY OB/GYN followed my hormone levels by taking  a vial of blood everyother day. This ensured that my body was actally miscarring and that the miscarriage was complete.

I have had 2 M/C and by doing the blood draws it actually SAVED my life. My 1st miscarriage was a "tubal" or ectopic pregnancy. By doing the blood draws my OB/GYN knew that my body was doing somethign WRONG. He scheduled a D and C to clean me out since it was obviouls that my body was trying ti miscarry and was having probles doing so.

The tissue was tested to see if it was fetal tissues and it came back negative. He had me come in to the office for a urine preg. test and it came back postitive AFTER havign the D and C. This told him for sure that my pregnancy was in my tubes.

My 2nd miscarriage was a regular miscarriage. He still followed my preg. hormanes levels until they wer eunder 100. Then it was safe to stop taking blood.

Re: How do u know ??

if you're bleeding i'd go to the hospital. i had a bleed at 24 weeks and i went straight to king edward memorial hospital ( maternity hospital over here), and they had a look at me and checked me out. it wasn't anything serious though, but i'd never take a bleed lightly.

Re: How do u know ??

With 3 of my miscarriages, I bled and had clotting.  Bled for like 6 weeks and got very sick.  Had severe pain like labour for a few days too.

1 of my miscarriages, I had no bleeding etc.  Didn't even know I'd miscarried until I was supposed to have been 16 weeks along.  My first ultrasound and they told me that the baby had died around 6 weeks.  That was 10 weeks of head down the toilet for nothing!  Still, better to have known.

My other miscarriage was more an emergency d&c as I was bleeding, in toxic shock and starting to get very sick.  I'd been hit by a car and didn't think any thing was wrong for 4 weeks.

Miscarriage is different for everyone.  Some have pain others don't.

Bleeding in pregnancy is quite common, but should always be watched closely by a doctor.

Re: How do u know ??

I had a heavy bleed with my last pregnancy yet everything was fine. I was 15 weeks.

With my miscarriage, I had clots as well. I think this might be the difference. But everyone is different. If you are experiencing any bleeding during pregnancy, I advice going straight to the hospital.

Re: How do u know ??

I couldn't tell until the bleeding gets heavy.

I have heard ppl can bleed and its common in pregnancy. For me I have never had a healthy pregnancy where I have bled.

If the bleeding is heavy go to the hospital. They may be able to do an internal ultrasound to see if the pregnancy is viable.

Please take care. (((hugs))
