Re: BATH TIME HELP

All our girls have gone through phases of not liking the bath or shower.  I did read your comments further down, and maybe miss 2 is ready for the potty, even if it is just to sit on it before having a bath/shower.

Keep bathtime normal and she will get back to enjoying it  soon.

Re: BATH TIME HELP

I was going to suggest exactly what brightonbelle has said.  Put her in her cosie and pretend it is a swim.  I'm not sure what else to suggest, since it is a new thing has something happened that would put her off?  Like slipping in the bath or getting water in her eyes, it can hurt if you are not expecting it?  Good luck and i hope it is only a short phase.

Re: BATH TIME HELP

Maybe have a wee chat to her aout that incident and see if it is related.  Tell her it is ok etc etc, you could sponge bath her until she is ready to go back in the bath or shower.  Explain that is what you will do until she says it's ok to use the bath again....just a thought....hope it helps.

Re: BATH TIME HELP

If she loves swimming then pretend that's what you are doing, you could put her in her swimming costume (just take it off before getting her out to wash her) put on her arm bands and pretend that it is her own little swimming pool, you could even get in there with her.

Hope all works itself out.

Re: BATH TIME HELP

Hi... sorry i dont have much of an answer for you but thought i'd let you know your not alone. My 2 year old daughter does the same thing lately too. Its so weird that she refuses to take a shower at all. In the end i actually have to go in with her and give her a shower while she screams and kicks etc.. it is so frustrating i dont know why she is like that. She too has never been like this before ever, she always enjoyed having a bath or shower with her brother.  But i am having a feeling it could be her starting to feel that she needs to go to the toilet and doesnt want her nappy off at all. These last couple of weeks she tells me she is wet but when i check she isnt and is actually holding it in till she cant hold any longer. Im trying to toilet train her now. So maybe your daughter is feeling the same. She wants to keep her clothing on, if she isnt toilet trained yet. I hope you get what i mean... i sometimes confuse myself when i write

Re: BATH TIME HELP

Hi

Funny you mention that incident cause with me. When we started to toilet train her we took her nappy off and just put briefs on her and she was happy to do but a few minutes later she wee and it ran down her legs and she was so frightened and didnt like it at all. We too told her that it was ok but since then she has no interest in taking her nappy off and kinda started to hold her wee or poo till she cant hold no more. I guess this whole shower incident started after that. Some of those ideas suggested sounded good so i might give it a go with Lealiki myself. Let me know how you go

Jo

She has a shower or bath with Mia all the time. She just started it recently. Nothing has changed its a brand new house. She has a doll, she has all her toys she could possibly want we even gave her a dummy to take in the shower still screams.
