I have been on them before, many times, as well as being pregnant too. They are supposed to make you hyper, so as others have said, it wont be them making you tired.

I do know from personal experience that when I take my ventolin and/or symbicourt it raises my blood pressure which in turn makes me feel really tired and out of sorts. This never happened to me before I was pregnant so it was a shock when i ended up in hospital with high blood pressure and trouble breathing.

I would say to go to your doctor and make sure he knows how you are feeling. Other than that, just rest as much as you can. Is there anybody that can help you mind your children at the moment maybe? I am sorry, I do not know your circumstances so am just pulling at straws.

I am sorry to hear that you are still quite sick . . . BUT I can promise you that the PREDNISOLONE is not causing you to be sleepy . . This medication is a type of steroid and it usually causes people to have problems sleeping due to the fact that it makes a person hyperactive.

My hubby has been on this medication since he was 8 and it has never made him sleepy. My 8yr old has also been on and off this medication and I can tell you that when she is taking it NO-ONE gets any sleeps as she is bouncing off the walls . .

I suspect that your sleepiness is a result of you being pregnant, sick and also your asthma meds as I know that with some of my asthma meds I get quite sleepy afterwards . .

Perhaps you may need to look into some extra day care until you are better . . It's important to get plenty of rest if you are to get better . . .

Hi Bel.  I had to take it when I was pregnant with my second one, as my asthma was not staying under control and oxygen is so important to the baby.  I took it as you did - only for about a week and dropping dose every day.  I only had one child at the time, so would have rest time - where we could lie on my bed and he had a book and I would nod off.  I don't remember being quite so tired much beyond that.  I feel for you and hope you feel better soon.

Hi there I always thought that prednisolone had the other effect that made you hypo and full of energy especially mixed with the ventolin, well that is the effect it has on my son and husband for their asthma.I hope you feel better very soon.

I haven't taken those before, but I have found some people who have talked about the medication, prednisolone, before on Minti. Perhaps you could Minti mail them and ask since they have first-hand experience with it?

Hey Bel, I really don't know how you can stop the tiredness on these tablets hunni. I have taken then briefly for asthma years ago & from working in the chemist know they have some side effects after long term use. Does you r doctor intend you to be on them long? When you come off them you have to do it very slowly as there can be some yucky side effects if you stop too fast. Hope you aren't on them long & get better fast hunni!
