I'm a bit confussed

My husband & I are try to have another baby as a lot of you already know, but last night I went to the toilet & discovered that I was bleeding????

I stopped taking my pill just after my last period, I took 1 of the yellow pills & then stopped after that.

Can anyone explain why I am bleeding, I just don't know why.

I thought that I have had my period so I won't get it again until the next cycle (or not at all if I fall pregnant)

Can anyone help?

Re: I'm a bit confussed

well, I know when I went off the pill, I mucked my cycle up completely.  I stopped taking it halfway through the month and ended up bleeding heavily for about 3-4 weeks.  I was told that it was to be expected, but not the amount, as I should have waited for the sugar pills to come around again.

Are you also aware that for some women it can take years for them to get pregnant again after being on the pill, especially if you have taken it for more than 2 years?  Only a small number of women experience it though.  just a bit of trivia.

I agree with Izzy and Practical Princess your body is adjusting to not taking the pill, Hang in there

If you've just gotten off the pill, it is normal to have some spotting and not be regular right away. You have to give your body time to adjust. In the meantime, it's best to start taking prenatal vitamin though. Good luck!

After you stop taking the pill, you could bleed at odd times while your body re-adjusts to not having the pill to control the period. When not on the pill, periods may not always be regular, & you could have some spotting at other times. See how you go for the next couple of cycles, then if you still feel things are not right go to the doctor. But at this stage I wouldn't worry.
