Some of the best adult party games are actually children's party games - with a twist.

Pass the parcel, but put in a strange but harmless little dare to do in each layer of paper on a note, with a drink voucher as the middle prize.

One to get the bride-to-be with (if she's wearing pants/jeans/shorts) is to get a large wide funnel and a potato, she has to balance the potato on her forehead and try when you say go, to get the potato into the funnel which is tucked into her pants. As you say go, you also tip a glass of water into the funnel.

Drama games are great fun if you have a bit of space to run around. Watch a few episodes of Who's Line Is It Anyway to get a few ideas of drama games that can be played.

A trivia contest could be fun to do, and the more ridiculas the questions the better. Personal ones about the bride-to-be could be funny to see how much everyone really does know about her.

Get a group of people together and guaranteed most of them have some little party trick to show off. Just offer a little prize for the best one and they'll entertain each other for a while.

The alphabet game, put one of each letter of the alphabet into a hat, draw one out, and the topic is body parts - everyone has to yell out the first body part they can think of starting with that letter as you read it out the letters picked at random. (I'll pass on my secret to the game: x = xiphiod process, z = zygamatic arch - both names of bones. lol) You'll be shocked when people are put under pressure how fast they'll blurt out names for body parts they'll normally never mention! LOL

Games like pictionary, charades, and scattergories often go down well with parties like this as well.

Hope thats enough to get you started at least.

Cheers, DA

We had a scavenger hunt for mine, my MOH made little lists which we wore on our wrists with things you had to complete by the end of the night including:

1- a mans business card
2- a drink from a stranger
3- a free drink for the hen
4- a condom

I cant remember any more, I know I kept the card somewhere, its just where is abit beyond me at the moment. She had heaps of them on there. I will look and get back to you if I find it.

I went to one as well where they had a book which was like a truth or dare hens night book. It was great, could maybe pick something up like that from a novelty shop.

Oh that must be like the game a group of bridal people in town were playing one night. They had to get a photo of themselves with a bearded man I am assuming as they asked my boyfriend to pose in the photo with them. They had a list and they had broken up into groups. They certainly were having a ball.

add in a shag (saggy tassles on end of a mat), a root (eg: a carrot), a screw (as in hardware people!), a faggot (bundle of dried herbs, get your mind out of the gutter already!)

I was going to suggest this one, which can be played anywhere and can be a lot of fun. It's also good to just add in really weird trivial stuff like a paperclip, a map of the town (anyone with GPS on their mobile can get that lol), a pinch of salt, a rubber band, a piece of string, etc; and then throw in something that they are not likely to be able to get hold of at the party and see if anyone succeeds in finding a way around it - eg: a purple potato chip.

It's an easier game to play if in teams as then each person can contribute, and how many paperclips can you find in a bar after all? but with teams you want a longer list of things to get as well.

I know of a few, I'll post them tomorrow though. Not quite with it enough to think that hard atm. It's been years since I've played any games like that.

BTW, avoid drinking games if you can, because some people can get a bit carried away and others can't handle drinking as much as they get made to by the game, and having a few people get toooo drunk and messed up, or worse case scenario get carted off to hospital iwth alcohol poisoning, can really put a downer on an otherwise good night.
