Depo Shot

I started the Depo around three months ago and my doctor advised me that is wasn't affected for the first month but I of course didn't listen. It is now almost three months and time for my next shot but I am feeling really sick and am worried that I may have gotten pregnant even on the shot. I want to know if this is possible. I took a test four days before my missed period but i feel that may have been too soon although I did it through a doctor. So can anyone tell me if my test could of read negative but the hormones from the shot, or the fact I took it too soon affected the results? Or am I just over worrying and should i continue with my next shot and these just could be some side effects of the shot?

Re: Depo Shot

Make sure 100% that you are not pregnant before you have your next shot. Being pregnant and having depo is dangerous, Just read the pamphlet in the depo box. There can be birth defects and all sorts of problems. Saying that tho, I do know of a girl who was on depo and fell pregnant and all was ok. Even so, just make sure first.

Chemical contraceptives have never worked for me at all!  Some women will fall pregnant no matter how many hormones you stuff in their bodies.

I'd take another test in a few days if you are still feeling pregnant.  As for the hormones affecting the results, most tests say that they don't so I would say it is just too soon to tell.  Next time, ask for a blood test.  More accurate and will be able to rule out any other issues too.
