he is happy and normal in himself. Though just now i remembered three nights ago he went to the loo and he said it was really hard and dry (the poos) and when he finally got it out it was bright red. but he flushed it away. i decided i would take a sample to the dr but he hasnt had anymore problems, so im  ot sure if its related.last time my kids had blood in stools it was clampytobactor food poisoning, but this is nothing like it.  He said he had a sore bottom too, and suttely asked if he had any idea why it hurt. but he said he didnt know.im starting to really freak out now,.... just breathe....

I definately think that the doctor is in order now.  I don't think it's a case of him being a picky eater because if he's losing weight then you can assume that he's not eating.  Have you noticed any changes in his personality?  Is he having trouble at school?  Sometimes other issues going on can be the underlying issue.

I think the doc is in order now.  Especially if he is pale and not eating, it can mean so many things.  If you can afford it, can you get the pediasure drinks, or something similar?  Have him drink it everyday at least to get the nutrients.  Is he taking any vitamins, espcially ones with iron?  My neice was going thru the same thing and come to find out she was severely anemic.  She did not want to do anything, eat, just sleep.  Now that she has been taking iron therapy she is back to her old self and eating great!  I hope things are ok, I don't want to scare you on the other spectrum of what this could be.  (I know a girl this happened to and it was really bad, thank god she is still alive) But definately take him to the doctor and at least have his blood level checked.  Take care, and I'm here if you need anything!

I absolutey agree that you should take your son to a doctor if not for peace of mind over anything else but another option would be a vitamin supplement. My son went through a stage where he wouldnt eat and seemed to get flu after flu after flu.  I put him on 'Incremin' and he picked up right away. 

There may or may not be other issues with your son besides being fussy but vitamins are just another option and they worked for me. Getting him to eat is another story all together.

I'd be taking him to the doctor.  It sounds like there is more than just pickiness going on here and he should be checked out just to be sure.

Talk with your doctor. If he is allergic, some foods might make him feel sick and he associates all food with that. It could be a number of things. Has he choked on something and become fearful. These are just a few random thoughts. Another is that some kids just go thru stages with food. A referal to a dietiction may be an option if you feel he would benifit. Sometimes they have ideas we ourselves haven't thought of.

i am in the same as you with no $ to chop and change food. am lucky that my son loves spag bol. saidly my daughter is the pain in the bum. she pretty much only eats meat. i have had to resort to hand feeding her again. :(
